Fair enough. Tho you’ve just described every politician that exists, lol.

You’d think tho that being leader of the Ontario PCs might buy him at least a little cred as a conservative.
very true that which is one reason I have a serious dislike for almost all. Same cats, just different stripes. Some like Tory though really don’t seem to believe in anything. More chameleon than cat and he’d say/do what ever played well for him.

Will say, I’ve never voted NDP and will never vote NDP. Jack Layton, he I liked. He believed in what he believed in, and would light a fire under all of them. The Fed NDP could really use him right now. Not a chance he’sdhave sold out and propped up the Liberals.

Guess we'll have to make do with his wife, then. She's doing quite well so far.
Oh, and Marit Styles could beat DoFo.

Not sure John Tory can really be considered Conservative. A lot of cons hate him for being a red Tory.

What he really was, imo, was just a politician that had no real political ideology or brand and would capitalize or try to, on anything that suited his purpose ( to get elected).
Just to be clear I am a conservative - in some ways on the extreme right of conservatism. I view Tory as a very incompetent mayor. Conditions for hosting FIFA games which was negotiated during his watch is a total disaster for Toronto. Someone like Tory should know better. Also during his watch Toronto property tax increases were kept ridiculously low - and in fact Toronto's tax rates are lower than for any neighbouring municipality. This is while most homeowners made hundreds of thousands on their property values. As a result of this many crucial infrastructure needs etc. were totally neglected. I consider Tory to have been a total failure as mayor.

While Chow may very well be a complete failure as mayor of Toronto already she has accomplished more [ with the Feds and the Province ] than Tory did during his term in office. Shame on you JOHN TORY for accomplishing nothing and abandoning some of your most vital duties.

Chow's approval rating has dropped significantly as people realized the honeymoon was over with increasing property taxes as high as she did.
https://www.cp24.com/news/mayor-olivia-chow-s-approval-rating-drops-following-release-of-toronto-s-budget-poll-1.6764957?cache=yesclipId10406200text/html;charset=utf-80404/7.578962/7.246408/7.282232/7.353291/7.353291/7.353291/7.353291/7.353291

She will keep plunging as the reality of the increase sinks in when the bills arrive. And even more when she starts taxing the rain.

The NDP will never lead Ontario again. That's how bad they were the last time.
Liberals don't even have a party in Ontario...that's how bad they were.

I don't think DoFo has anything to worry about...and neither do you.

Chow is doing fine, getting way more done already than Tory or the crackhead.
Marit Stiles is kicking DoFo and Crombie's butts.
Elections are still far away.

No one trusts the NDP flip-floppers. They don't even know what they stand for and are so desperate, they pander as the wind changes...you don't seriously think anyone takes them seriously do you?

For example, first they did this...

The vandalism comes the day after Stiles booted rookie Hamilton Centre MPP, Sarah Jama, from her caucus after a lengthy debate over a statement she released about violence in the Middle East.
https://globalnews.ca/news/10046317/marit-stiles-ontario-ndp-office-vandalized/

...and then they flip-flop to this without inviting Jama back...

Marit Stiles and the Ontario NDP Official Opposition Caucus have sent a letter to the Prime Minister, urging him and all federal MPs to support the NDP's push for Canada to take immediate action to end the violence in Gaza.

None of that has anything to do with Chow.
I called out Marit Stiles over this and continue to do so. Jama was right.

Chow is doing fine.
All the corruption these days comes from DoFo.

You following the Ontario Place mess?

Stiles can't be trusted. She proves it all the time with her pandering. The Jama issue is a glowing example of saying one thing and doing another. Stiles will say anything it takes to be relevant. That's why no one will vote for her and her party.

Ontario place has sat as a useless relic of the past for decades. Time to do something with it or it will continue to rot. Environmental assessment? Sure go ahead.

Personally, I would have preferred a casino and entertainment complex. But something is better than nothing.

You must have supported the 407 lease when it happened as well.

Ummm...have you not read my comments about that? I did not support it.
So what's your point exactly?

Actually, nevermind. You'll just make something up that you think I said or thought so don't bother.

The point is that you are supporting a similar thing happen to Ontario Place.
A secret, 99 year lease with a foreign company to take over a public asset.

I support it from the perspective of progress. Otherwise, it will just sit there rotting like it has been.
I do like the waterpark and concert venue plans. Not sure what the spa would include and what portion of the property that would take up. I would have preferred a casino.
Not enough info is available yet about the specific terms so I'll reserve judgement until then.

Ontario Place has 2.1 million people visit a year as it is.
As a park its great.
The old building should be heritage designated and renovated.

If DoFo spent $650 million on that instead of a parking lot it would amazing.
