As a conservative I believe in equality of opportunity. No matter who you are what your background and what your sex. I don't believe in equality of outcome. Because if you have true equality of opportunity, we are all responsible for our own outcome. It is not the governments place to ensure that. The left seem to have a problem with this basic concept.
Feminism is no longer about equality of opportunity. They want forced equality in the workforce, but only in jobs they care about. Not in male dominated careers that don't interest them. Not a lot of feminists out there crying foul about the fact that the majority of Garbage collectors are men.
Gay people should have the right to legally get married and all rights under the law. But that doesn't mean they have the right to force religions to marry them when it is against that religions fundamental beliefs. Why join the club if you don't agree with the club?
Trans people don't get to re-write science. There are only two biological sexes. The word gender is Latin for biological sex. Someone wants to ignore these facts, fine. They can do what they want, but they don't have the right to force me to ignore those facts and participate in their subjectivity. Just like I may identify as the most supreme being in existence, but I don't have the right to force you to address me as "almighty".
I know what body dis morphia is. It is a psychological condition no different than someone having an eating disorder. But we don't treat people with an eating disorder by having society all pretend that food doesn't exist.
Everyone can March to the beat of a different drum. But when that drum starts interfering with someone else's drum then rules have to be put in place to curtail the drumming. Not force everyone else to march with you.
