I don't know if the racial and sexist discrimination charges will stick because CP24 hires a lot of racialized women and men and some have secured full time employment. However it does highlight that it is not a great place to work and that most on-air personalities of all backgrounds are precariously employed and not treated well. Patricia has put up with it longer than others and that is probably why she is more "broken" than most who end up leaving. Nneka Elliott was a solid anchor and kept getting passed over for permanent gigs for candidates who had put in less time. Sure I though Nneka was hot but she also did a good job presenting the news.

Former TPS Detective turned reporter Steve Ryan seems to be reporting all over the place with CP24 these days. He started as the Crime Specialist now I saw him reporting from the Rogers Center on the Jays yesterday explaining different pitches being used.

Take a look at how Dana Levenson came back on top as host of “Ask a Lawyer” weekly show. She worked over 20 years as weather reporter and left after complaining about no promotion opportunity. Years later she landed as host of Ask A Lawyer and even hosted Hot Property once recently. Nice comeback for Dana.

Patricia J. is a hand talker and not a good weather reporter, kept telling things that are not relevant and not even funny. She has the nerve to get a lawyer to help her.
Forget about her.

I don't know if the racial discrimination is even true. Based on what I have heard from those I know who work there, the horrible treatment is pretty even across the board with every race there. The sexual discrimination maybe.

Her being passed over is more likely a byproduct of her personality.
PJ is just as sweet as she appears, and this likely translates to her level of aggression in working up the ladder. So, she was passed over because she was perceived as being an easy person to take advantage of. Someone who wouldn't push back, and she likely didn't for the 10 years she was there, until it hit the breaking point.
This in no way absolves CP24 of the what they did. Their treatment of their employees is horrible, and needs to be exposed and rectified.

PJ is one of the most recognized personalities on CP24. Why was she not given the hosting duties for the morning show when Pooja left? She was a natural choice. Her on air style was tailor made for that position.

Racial discrimination I don't think is really a factor here, but shit treatment at CP24 is a real problem. Especially for a subsidiary of a company that claims it supports Mental health issues. That's laughable when CP24 uses treatment that contributes to Mental health issues.

But then that is Bell Media in a nutshell. The most hypocritical company out there. They pride themselves on the appearance of this Leftist, progressive, company but when the rubber hits the road, they are the most hypocritical company out there.

Nothing is worse than all the trashy commercials CP24 airs constantly, e.g. ding ding ding ding come on Snow by Waxman, Rolex, Rolex I am cash man by Oliver Jewellery,
etc etc. I switch channel as soon as I see them come on.

I would like to remind everyone that on air performance counts and Patricia's weather reporting on air performance is the lowest compared to others such as Lyndsay Morrison,
Mika Midolo, Jessica Smith and even Michelle Jobin who left after Lyndsay Morrison came back from mat leave. I am so glad Lyndsay is back. She is so pleasant and professional. Patricia needs to look at the mirror and stop hiding under her dark skin to claim discrimination. Dana Levenson came back from retirement after over 20 years of weather reporting and came back hosting "Ask A Lawyer" weekly. That is what I call performance.

True, you saw the skilled trades college of canada commercial, that school is just a money grab, several thousands dollars for pre apprenticeship programs for just 6 months

She always annoyed me. I found her to be unprofessional for the position she held. I did not like her loose banter style. My wife and I would constantly comment on her clothes. You are doing the weather on the most watched channel in the city, not going clubbing. If others acting more professionally or played the game better and got promoted for it, well that's the industry.

Well said.

I would like to state that PJ did not do herself any favors by making her situation public. Prospective employers may view her as a liability risk and not hire her. She may have been better off to find a new position elsewhere and say goodbye to CP24 on an amicable basis. As they say in any line of work, "It's a small industry".

A lot of companies treat their workers like shit. I always looked at CP24 as a learning ground and the "sweat-shop" of the industry. Shit pay, shit hours and shitty culture. You go in, gain some experience and then get the hell out to bigger and better things.

You are spot on in your observation about PJ taking over for Pooja. They could have at least tried it.

I don't really care what she dress, doesn't bother me at all, I think she stayed too long at cp24 , if she didn't get the hours or the benefits, she should of left after working 2 or 3 years and moved on

Not just CP24, I hated what SN did to Jackie Redmond.

She's now working for the WWE Network and hosts the Biography series on AE.

Well I think it was a conflict to be banging jays players when she was just suppose to interview them.

Eden Debebe is doing a much better job reporting weather and is assigned to report on other news items.
PJ's performance is on the bottom of the pile. She won't get anywhere with her complaint to Human Rights Commission.
