the bottom 3 was quite a shock tonight. never would have guessed that lisa and ace would be there while kevin and bucky were home and clear. even more surprising was that lisa was 2nd to last. imagine if she was booted tonight?? that would have been tragic.

I was a little surprised Ace was in the bottom 3, very surprised Lisa was.
To me, Ace is a little like Constantine from last season. Some talent, but he really relies more on his delivery and making goo-goo eyes at the camera. Like Constantine, I think that works for awhile, but eventually the audience wakes up and realizes the guy just isn't that talented relative to the other contestants. I just don't think Ace is that good, and he certainly was among one of the worst 3 performers last night.
With Lisa, I am baffled. I think it is too early to break out my diversity theory, namely, we can't have three black chicks in the final. But eventually I believe my theory will come into play.
I am not too surprised Melissa was voted off. I didn't think she was bad last night, but she was the last girl in, and I just don't think she had as many fans as the other girls.

Kevin Covais is the best thing to happen to AI since Paula Abdul swallowed Corey Clark's mulatto jizz. He's as entertaining as William Hung and as well spoken as John Stevens. This kid is gonna be a star and there's nothing you can do about it.
As far as an SP or MPA who looks like Melissa, I'd check out April @ Platinum.
I guess people like the underdog. I agree that Melissa was the hottest. Kellie has typical "hot girl" looks but Melissa was more unique. Incredible body too, and by far the best dressed.

Sorry about my outburst yesterady in regards to Kevin Covais aka The Next Justin Timberlake. I guess we're just gonna have to agree to disagree about The worlds next big star.

50's night on Idol. I hate to admit it, but I knew most of the songs. Overall, I enjoyed the performances, and I must say, a lot of those '50's songs were pretty sexy. Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Patsy Cline--they had some hot songs!
I was actually impressed by Barry Manilow's coaching, particularly his direction for them to feel the songs they are singing, not just sing them. Good advice, because they all can sing to some extent. The difference has to be in the performance. Anyway, here's my rundown:
Mandisa - She sang great, and looked very pretty tonight... too bad she is still as big as a house. Even Paula called her a horse.
Bucky - Competent rendition of a Buddy Holly song but not much more.
Paris - She sings okay, but that "Fever" song requires a real woman to sing it. Once again, she tried to belt it, but that song is all about delivery and attitude. I don't think she pulled it off at all, but I think she advances.
Chris - Awesome. I loved his version of "I Walk the Line'. This guy is the real shit.
Katharine - Another hot sexy performance. She is looking good, singing good, and getting better. She still comes off a little icy though, not as likeable as Kellie.
Kevin - I admit it, I gave a big "Awww" during his performance. Simon is right, he'll be fine because all the little girls and grandmas had to love it.
Taylor - Another entertaining performance, although is it me, or does anyone else think his antics are wearing thin?
Lisa - Ho hum. Okay performance. I am beginning to think she is not as talented as I once thought.

That is my prediction for the top 3... but I have to agree... Chris is absolutely AMAZING. I think he could win it...
But Taylor has an entertaining presence... you just want to see what he is going to do next... last week my entire household was doing the arm swing...(his signature move)...
As for Kevin... OMG... he should have been gone with his performace of "Starry starry night"... I could not believe he didnt make the bottom 3. BUT... he does have the senior and the pre-teen vote... and lets not forget the GEEK vote for chicken little.

Best 3 performances were Chris, Katharine and Paris with Kellie very close behind. Worst 3 IMO were Kevin, Bucky and Ace.
Taylor bored me. Mandisa sings really well but I hate her style of singing.
Prediction for bottom 3 - Elliott, Bucky, Lisa. But if I had a choice I'd send Kevin home the sooner the better.
