I have nothing against "Pride" but I do having something against participation being forced on me.
I agree.
I do hope they come up with a different promotion to welcome LGBTQ2+ fans that allows all the players to be present without being uncomfortable.

It's amazing to see that some Christians have balls (aka testicles). Usually Christians just cave to the wokies and virtue signalers.
Staal Brothers Choose Not to Wear Panthers’ Pride Jerseys (msn.com)
Well apparently Eric Staal only grew his so called "balls" recently as there is a video showing him wearing a pride jersey when he played for the Habs.

When a reporter pointed that out to him he denied the fact. Doesn't the good Christian boy Eric know that bald face lying and bearing false testament is a sin?

Not a good look for the NHL, it's been surpassed by soccer as the 4th most popular sport in North America, soon it will be surpassed by pickleball.

It was an opportunity for positive affirmation of basic human rights ruined by a few spoiled brats. Bringing Christian ethics as a point of conscience is not valid, The Church's list of atrocities would make Hitler swoon.

If you have a weak stomach don't watch.

Some people love to bash Christians but all or nearly all religions have blood on their hands (some more than others).

He's either forgetting, lying or didn't realize what the jersey symbolized. Take your pick.

Personally I'm fairly sure I would wear the jersey but if somebody objected then that would be okay with me as well.

Just play the game and leave all the SJW stuff where it belongs.......Outside the arena.

Oh and BTW....If they wanted to stop playing anthems I'm okay with that too.

Yeah, all regilions are terrible for the most part.
Regilions are indeed evil. I remember Kirk, Spock and McCoy beaming down to Rigel 4 for a diplomatic conference only to have their souls be encased in tiny silicon cubes which were subsequently sold by Harry Mudd on the inter-galactic black market.

What gets me is the hypocrisy of these players. James Reimer, whom I love, started this whole ball rolling by saying it didn't match his Christian values. He's a practicing Mennonite, and says supporting gay rights is against his religion...yet, his religion is pacifist. So, explain to me why he had no issues wearing military themed warm up jerseys in the past (and will probably continue to do so going forward)? Proof: Sharks online store

Is it because he fears a bigger backlash from the conservatives for following that tenet of his faith?

Here's the thing, the NHL is trying to make itself more popular across the world. And there is a HUGE untapped market in the LGBTQ and POC community. So, they are trying to show that it is a welcoming atmosphere and game for all people. This cancellation of pride events is just more backlash from right-wingers like Ron DeSantis who push anti-LGBTQ agendas so there moronic supporters believe they are conservatives enough. That is the climate we're facing in many parts of the US and even Canada. I don't think wearing a pride jersey means you necessarily support gay rights. I understand that some cannot get over the fact that a book (the bible) ghost written and revised thousands of times over the eons says gay stuff is bad.

What these refusals to wear these jerseys tells the world is that these players do not want LGBTQ fans. They can try to spin it off as a religious thing, but wearing a rainbow flag doesn't make you gay. It doesn't mean you anything really. They could still be homophobic in private. What it does say is they are waving a political flag basically saying that its alright to treat that community different.

As far as the Military goes, They are known as defense forces. would a pacifist just let themselves be taken over by an attacking enemy? Not sure about that. I don't think its so much about not accepting LQBTQ fans. The Russia issue is real. A lot of these guys live in Russia in the offseason. Can you imagine if a player was killed or arrested because he wore a rainbow shirt. This is Russia were talking about. Putin is insane. Its a delicate balance between showing the LQBTQ community you care and value their business and the welfare of your Russian players and their families. I think the they would have the same issues if they had players from certain Muslim countries where they throw gay people off rooftops.
