I think that he's better at guarding SF's than SG's. He needs to work on his ball-handling to be as effective as Artest offensively. He played SF and some PF in college. I would love to see him post up guys like Rose does. Also would like to see at least 1 alley-oop attempt per game. :D

Defensively he's gotta layoff the handchecking. He's got all of the physical tools to be a lock down defender but just needs to work on it. Next year should be fun!
True he does have tools, probably just needs to get his feet to keep up with the SG's of the league.

With regards to adjusting, I still remember the first 15 games or so, he would be called for that offensive foul when he uses his off-hand to shove the defender as he drives. He has broken away from that habit, and hopefully he can now start easing off that handcheck.

Back to your point about the Rookie Wall, I do feel CV and JC are going through some rookie wall stage, however I seem to feel by Mitchell giving CV and JC less minutes, it doesn't help them any to get over this. I would think the best way to get them past this is to play them. However I could be wrong, have rookies in the past just played through this or did they need a year to be seasoned into the rigour of the league. The amount of games they have played now in the NBA, in comparison their college season would be almost over.

Nice to meet you by the way psubs.

Too much made of the Rookie wall...

These guys havnen't been asked to play 35minutes a game....they are young and Villanueva at least is probably more in need of having a play run for him to get him going.........he enters every game looking timid, but notice the attitude he gets after a nice dunk....as a veteran he'll enter the games with that attitude(a la Jalen Rose) and work through a missed shot or two.

Get CV a dunk early and he'll step up on defense as well as on the boards.

As rookies they are given a lot to think about...and these guys are being pressured quite a bit to contribute....kind of unfair to the rookies.

Calderone who really isn't a rookie is going to simpy have to practice practice practice and start hitting his open J's. Its so much easier to enter the NBA as a guard...the game doesn't change that much for them.......If I'm not mistaken the 3 point line is closer in the European leagues too isn't it??????

The rookie wall is a tough reality that players have to face when coming into this league. It really exposes the talent level which one is at when they do hit this so called wall. JC is obviously at a lower talent level then CV is however, with some time JC will develop into a solid point guard. I would never go as far as saying he'll become an all-star, but definately someone that will hussle for you. CV on the other hand, is someone that with time could become an all star. Far from it now, but one day definately possible. As for Mitchell giving them minutes, I don't know how it works to get out of funks, but I think CV will have lesser of a problem then JC will of getting out of it. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Mike James was side lined because of back spasms. Calderone started and played well. The game was played pretty well. Everyone played well, and took good shots. Jalen stepped it up, because he knows he might be traded to NY, so he showcased a bit. Raptors win against a lost NY team, or shall I say crushed a lost NY team. :D

I feel bad for Marbury. He is such a skilled player, but the rest of the team is just horrible. This big meatball Eddy Curry just throws his weight around and sucks in defence.

I can't feel bad for Marbury. He was dumb enough to leave Garnett and the Timberwolves.
Speaking of which there are rumours that the Raptors are seriously considering trading with New York which has similar contracts. What are some of the possibilities? They are talking about Rose, James and now Eric Williams wants to be traded also. I don't think the Nicks would give up Marbury and I hope we wouldn't get Curry, but I like Crawford.

Talk now is Mike James to Memphis now that damon is on the mend. Doubt that anything will happen with it though.

Trading James would be a BIG mistake!! The team is starting to gel and James has stepped in as a leader on the floor and in the lockerroom. Hope the rumours are just rumours.

I agree. Trading him away would be the same as giving Bosh his free agent papers. No way he'd stay after trading away the guy he works best with.

Trade him....he's playing for a contract....after he gets a long term contract....he'll suck

never trust players stats during a contract year - they play hard but after they get a contract....they coast

considering at one point it was 66 to 80 something for the blazers the raps made a pretty good comeback. Course they lost but I think a lot of low level teams would have folded up at that point. Also, watching Bosh down the stretch against ratcliff was awesome.

They spent themselves just getting back into the game and did not have enough left in the tank for the final push. Didn't they learn anything from the losses in November?

They show alot of NBA games here in Taiwan, but they never show or update about the Raptors. Who blames them right? LOL I hope all is going well for the Raps. Can someone give me a quick update? Is Bosh going to make the All-Star team? Thanks. Still on vacation in Taiwan. Cheers.
