How do you know he wanted to lead Canada. There was no emergency then and Trump was not president. I think you are having trouble grasping how quickly circumstances are changing.
You should step away from your brainwashing for a moment and take a look at the plan that has been in motion for many months...
Trump first announced his plan for tariffs on Canada on Nov 25th 2024.
Trudeau resigned on Jan 6th 2025. (you think that decision was made the day before that?)
Carney's wife and Gerald Butts were all working together at Eurasia Group well before that and Carney himself was Trudeau's advisor.
Then virtually overnight, Carney was crowned PM.
Never elected. Never an MP.
Further, he starts making national policy decisions without parliament.
The Liberal narrative changed overnight from a decade of "the climate needs fixing"...to "Trump bad". That was done to distract Canadians and to allow the Liberal party to govern independently in a "we'll save you if you trade in a bit of your democracy" way.
Carney's interests are not to govern. They are financially driven. His investments and tax practices are proof that those interests are not in Canada but rather almost everywhere else especially the US.
So the guy who has been making policy decisions because of the "big bad US threats" is in essence investing in the US and always has been.
That's the person and party you trust?
Good luck with that. If Carney loses, he will not stick around. You know that right?
