It wasn't great news for the Crown...but the player Tyler testified he saw Dube do it so it's not as crushing to the Crown as some think.
But it is another break to a player...a personal text a week after the incident from one player to another can't be relied on as truth or reliable...really! I guess Brett Howden's memory loss paid off here.

I think what bothers me about this and about some of you guys is that many many of you know if you haven't actually participated in it you know somebody that has or heard about it happening. You know that this stuff happens and yet it's almost like you're insulted to your man card of thinking "no way, guys wouldn't do something like that. We're too honourable "

McLeod wasn't being truthful in his account of the text message he sent out to the detective in 2018.
Makes me question what else he isn't being truthful about.
Yes he clearly omitted that from his interview with the detective. That is concerning.
He also said the first consent video was taken in the early stages of when the group sexual activity began and not after the fact. I do believe him there.
Past behaviour can’t influence what happened in that particular instance. Otherwise you’re opening up so much more to be including if they want to be doing character judgements which have so many more bias with regards to the jury It needs to remain about the facts of that situation
