I am guessing that she was too drunk to know what was happening and she went over to have sex with 1 guy and got gang banged. If that's the scenario, it would support a sexual assault conviction

Yes, she went back to the hotel and was ok to be with one guy but not five...she might have bit off more than she could chew and I think some might get off but some will get convicted....it'll be a tough conviction and a tough defence, this won't be easy for either side.
Personally, I hope they get convicted because they treated that girl as badly as you would treat another person and took advantage of her.
Either that, or 1 of the jurors was tainted - i.e. trying to sell a story or hinting that he / she could be bribed?

that's pure speculation. that is hard to prove in court. DNA sampling and witness corroboration...which is gonna be tricky...someone needs to prove it...or someone has to confess what happened.
mandrill says what i think is exactly what happened...and there is lots of proof that that is what happened, they won't need DNA and there will be lots of corroboration, the players got into a group chat a few days after about it...the issue is consent, was she up for it or did the players take advantage of her?
The damage is done for the players...they'll have a hard time signing an NHL contract again...meanwhile, the girl did get 3.5 million from Hockey Canada.
I don't consider an ass slap to be sexual assault. That was the extent of my commentary.
Possible grounds for an assault charge which would most likely not result in conviction, but not sexual assault. No jury will convict a man of sexual assault if his only misbehavior is a butt slap.

Why did McLeod feel the need to take that video?
