I think you are confused. I have nothing against people who want to ride bikes,
And whats with your racist insults at me? I'm not even white... I don't have a problem with muslims or any of the other people you listed. In fact, there was someone here on these forums with a racist signature championing an israeli soldier but degrading a palestinian which I reported.
I don't hate those who are different. Different is good. But I don't want bicycles on the roads. Get over yourself and stop being so emotional and hostile.
Umm... based on your earlier post you expressed a distinct hatred against cyclists among other people:
i hate all bikers on the roads. take the sidewalk, i dont care if its illegal. just stay the fuck out of my way. bicycle's these days want cars to hit them just so they can settle a claim with insurance. go take the subway if your that poor. and i dont care about 'green' movement, get the hell out of canada and move to the UK if your so upsy daisy about the environment. or go to holland.
So based on what you've said, you're not racist, or anti-muslim. You simply wish
that all the poor people, who are forced to ride bikes because they can't afford cars or transit (and who must get into accidents to collect insurance because that is their only form of income) along with "green treehuggers" should be shipped out of Canada to Holland or the UK. Wow, dude. I originally thought you were just ignorant. Now I think you're a complete asshole.
I do it myself. But stay on the sidewalk if you want to ride a bike, and I don't care if its illegal. No cop is going to hassle you for such a small thing.
Dude, I'm doing 35-40 kph riding a bike on a flat road, and 60+kph on a downhill... imagine what kind of carnage there would be if every cyclist rode on the sidewalks with people walking around at 5kph. There's a reason why it is ILLEGAL for a cyclist to ride on the sidewalk. As Landscaper mentioned, bicycles are considered motor vehicles under the highway safety act. Do you really want a cyclist doing 35k riding on the sidewalk? And, yes, a cop will give you a nice $150 fine if you are caught riding on the sidewalk.
And for the record. I'd vote for Rocco Rossi. I support his plan for bike lanes on non-arterial streets. And yeah, the Jarvis st. bike lane probably isn't the best idea, although the switching middle lane was never a great idea either. I can't count the number of times I've seen drivers driving down that lane in the wrong direction.
