Does that mean you don't have an answer?
I've already made the case.

You want to get into minutia which will only reinforce that case further. But I've better ways to spend my time than explaining to you in 100 different ways why men should not compete against women in sports.

You're a lost cause.

I didn't realize you considered civil rights "minutia".
Well.
That's you, I guess.

I'm confused. Your position is that men should compete against women in sports?

If your position is that they should, you'll have to make the arguments about why that should be the case.

If your position is that they should not, what is the point you're trying to make in this thread?

My position is that government intervention here is heavy handed and unnecessary.
You said government has to intervene because it is a civil rights issue.

I feel that the burden of proof is on you here, but then "Submit to authority - we want a dictatorship" does seem to be the default right-wing position of late, so I don't really expect you to back this up other than "I don't like it so the government should intervene".

Authoritarians gotta authoritarian, I suppose.

Men and women in separate sports leagues has been the status quo since the dawn of time.

Government enforcing this is anything but heavy handed.

You want to introduce something new to the world of sport, so the burden is on you to show that men in women's sports doesn't negatively impact women.

Yet we already know that it does, and that's why separation existed in the first place.

Times change.
How long did the world not even understand that the band Queen was gay?
trump still dances to the Village People and probably has no clue there either.

Now there are new rules to deal with trans and its not a real issue.

The dems are not dying on that hill.
The other side is claiming that they are because of MAGA's obsession with race, gender and sexual orientation.
It should be a non issue and Dems should be capable of disassociating themselves from it and not suffer politically from it

You're arguing with a guy who thinks men can get pregnant..Really think about that for a moment.

It should be a non-issue.
Sadly, MAGA and the Conservative movement in general is fucking obsessed with it.

Martina Navratilova isn't MAGA nor Conservative.

This is a 80/20 issue.

A radical leftist like you is blind to reality.

You don't know the political orientation of the female athletes (i.e. the victims) opposing trans gender nonsense.

A few reasons.

1) Because the Dems don't have nearly as much media control as the GOP/right, so even if you ignore the issue, the right can amplify it. Then you get accused of hiding from the issue.
2) Because lots of people don't like the "just throw this group under the bus for convenience" because it has a really shitty history. It also sends a signal to everyone else -- "If the right throw a fit about an issue, we will absolutely cave and throw you under the bus, so maybe don't support us".
When the democrats had media control on Twitter and fb what exactly did they do with that control? And dems still have CNN, msnbc and ABC.
