Anyone who thinks that pulling Gausman cost the Jays the game wasn't paying attention. Unless Gausman was going to pinch hit and hit a homerun?
...this is true, but I still believe John Schneider rides the analytics a little too hard in the playoffs. Clearly the Blue Jays weren't hitting shit yesterday… But it would've been nice if they had a little bit of extra motivation like Gausman legging it out and still in the game going deep. Maybe then they could have hit the side of a barn with the beach ball or however that expression goes....

I can't think of any more motivation than a trip to the World Series :)
He's the front runner for MOTY... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

(& it's 'hit the broad side of the barn...')

vladdy has to wait for amistke as they pitch him outside and mistakes are ot coming

with Bo behind him they were forced to avoid walking so more mistakes

Bo has more importance than hitting as forces pitchers not to walk those in front of him

Seattle has great pitching and Raleigh is the super star center piece that makes their offense score

Unrespected loss today. The Jays looked panicked and frustrated. I didn't see the confidence and comfortable at all. I think the Jays set up too high of the expectations to themselves. Guess what? Now it's 0-2. I would like to see the Jays show the fans the excitement and fun every chance they got. Don't worry about the win or loss. Just let it go and see what happens. Relax and have fun just to play the ball game. It's not over yet.

Let's go, Blue Jays! Show us how the greatest come back is made!

Jays scored just 2 earned runs in the last 2 games.

Let that sink in

I still think John Schneider plays the analytics a little too hard with over-managing his pitching staff in the playoffs. Just leave the damn thing alone buddy. Stop trying to prove you are a first place manager and stop letting your ego drive your moves.. nothing wrong with letting your starters go the distance. Just because you're in the playoffs doesn't mean you have to over manage everything. I'm surprised people don't talk about this. Granted they can't hit shit and you're not going to win anything this way… but John Schneider is not helping.

Just because you are in the playoffs does not mean now all of a sudden your starters can only go 3/4 innings throwing 60 pitches because you're riding analytics so ridiculously hard. This is literally the third playoff appearance in a row where John Schneider's ego over analytical crap has messed things up. Yeah, I get the fact that they're not hitting I understand that… But at the same time players get motivated from what other players do as good performances spread… Let your hitters get motivated by the workmanship of your starter. Why completely remove that element in playoff baseball?

The team is batting, 131, but it's the manager's fault that they're losing. Got it. 👍🏾
Actually, what I'm saying is pretty simple....good performance spreads. Baseball is a game of momentum,.… Having your pitcher go deep when he hasn't given up a run since the first might be a good option to accomplish some favorable momentum. Are you blind? Do you not see the early hooks Schneider has performed time and time again in the playoffs over the years regarding his starters?

Please save the sarcasm for elsewhere. 👍🏼

'... might be a good option', or it might not be a good option. Nobody knows for sure. Hindsight is 20/20. Yesavage clearly didn't have his best stuff last night. I would think that the coaching staff has a better idea of how he's doing than anyone else. Bottom line... the hitters have to hit. That's really simple.
