I guess it's fair to assume Yesavage will once again be the game 2 starter. Maybe he will also get game six or seven if necessary. Truly remarkable what this kid is doing. 22 years old replacing Hall of Famer' Max Scherzer on the LDS roster, and striking out former MVPs and future Hall of Famers in the postseason. Making minced meat out of the Yankee lineup. 22 years old! I've never seen anything quite like this. Pulled from his start after giving up no hits in 5 1/3. This is like a fairytale story.

I agree with Bassitt if good to go. You need a 4th starter or bulk guy in a 7-game series. I am surprised to see Scherzer. I hope he exceeds my expectations. I think the Jays are stronger without this year's version of Santander in the lineup. He has not found his stroke yet in 2025 and the ALCS is not the time to give him a chance to work it out + he is the weakest fielder on the roster. I really hope he exceeds my expectations as well.

I never knew Tom Selleck had a major league at bat. I just looked him up. I also never knew he played college ball. I'm naturally interested in him a little bit because I love that movie An Innocent Man (best prison scenes of all time in my opinion next to Shawshank Redemption) and I vaguely remember him participating in some celebrity Home Run Derby during the 1993 All-Star game in Baltimore where he hit a home run… But I never knew he actually was a pinch hitter against the Reds. That could've been Rob Dibble pitching as they mentioned in your clip, who I consider to be one of the most dangerous relievers of all time. His 101 mph in 1990 would've been over 107 mph today. His back catcher shaking his glove hand in agony. These are visual scenes that I will never forget. 101 mph doesn't do that to catchers anymore because the damn guns are juiced now lol. I'm surprised Dibble doesn't get mentioned more in those hardest thrower documentaries because he threw some serious gas. Nasty nasty nasty stuff. Nasty boys for sure.

Is everyone excited for the Mariners series? Great Thanksgiving this will be. I have to honestly say I am so unbelievably impressed with the emergence of Trey Yesavage. It's probably the best of Blue Jays stories I've ever seen. He started this season in A ball and has been strategically brought up through the system to be a secret weapon right now in the postseason. The guy is 22 years old and he is untouchable. I have a big feeling Yesavage is going to be a superstar big time. I'm very impressed with the way the organization handled him, brought him up the way they did, and planned what purpose he would have at this time of year. When you stop and think about what's going on with this kid… It's truly remarkable. One of the best baseball stories I've ever seen in my life. He's not getting a taste of big league baseball, he's pitching in humongous games for a first place team in the postseason. I put this story right up there with Jim Abbott. Obviously Jim Abbott would be number one…but Yesavage would be on this list in my mind. Truly unbelievable what's going on with this whole situation.

From Wiki: '' Selleck's family moved to Sherman Oaks, California, in 1948.[10] He graduated from Grant High School in 1962 with future Monkees drummer Micky Dolenz [11] and enrolled at Los Angeles Valley College, living at home and saving money.[12] Selleck, who stands 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) tall, transferred to the University of Southern California during his junior year to play for the USC Trojans men's basketball team.[13] He also was a pitcher and designated hitter for the USC baseball team. '

If you like prison flicks try ''Shot Caller'' with Nikolaj William Coster-Waldau ...It's great.

Oh and never let Mike Wilner hear you say ''back catcher''...He'll say there is no position called that, lol
He used to say that all the time on the Fan590.

Not worried about Scherzer on the roster. He is the 13th pitcher, and he is the best alternative for the lowest leverage role that needs to go multiple innings in a blowout win or loss. He is better suited for that role than Nance, so in my view its right call. We already have 5 higher leverage righty relievers above Nance, and with days off Nance will not see a mid or high leverage role all series.

Remember what happened when we had those big leads against New York, and we tried to use multiple guys including Nance to finish games. Scherzer would be much better suited than Nance for that role. Say we are down 9-0 after four innings like the Yanks were against us. It would suck to lose and go through 4 relievers after that. We can bring in Scherzer for 3 or 4 innings.

Furthermore, since we got rid of Bruihl (rightfully), having Scherzer on the roster allows you to use Lauer in spot situational lefty roles in mid leverage.

Bruihi was blah. I'm happy they also got rid of Nance. I wasn't crazy about Nance since he blew that game in September. The pitchers on the roster look excellent to me!

Yes, I've seen Shot Caller. Good movie. But still nothing beats Jimmy Rainwood's (Tom Sellecks) three year sentence at the fictitious state penitentiary in Oroville California lol.

Great acting, perfect directing.

"An Innocent Man" was a pretty good flick.

Our starters will look pretty 2026
Bieber, Berrios, Gausman, Yesavage and Tiedeman (he sould be fully recoverd from TJ, I expect him to start at some point in season).

Scherzer and Bassitt are FA, probably won't return.
I think Bieber can walk away from his contract at the end of this year.

Couldn't get a hit after the 2nd inning, couldn't get a baserunner after the 2nd inning.
Pathetic! And it doesn't get any easier with Gilbert, Kirby, Castilo and Woo coming up.
Jays are in trouble

He has a player option for $16 million. The way he has pitched for the Jays since acquiring him that's half of what he will get on the open market next season.

Pretty good start!!!
That was disgusting. If they lose today down 2 - 0 going to Seattle just like that. If these guys are going to get two hits the whole game, they're not beating anybody.
