Why did Shack catch the ban hammer?
I'm not a mod on this board.

I do know that mitchell76 and shack were feuding a month ago. They both last posted on April 4. They are on ban because shack's not appearing in the Members data for most posts. They aren't permanently banned because Banned hasn't replaced custom titles, and past posts can be accessed using Search. That's all I know about this.

Ex Jay news..He was having a superb season as well..Phillip was right about him all along.
Thanks man. I told all of you goddamnit lol. I had constant debates with those white knights that said "his defense sucks and he strikes out too much… that's why he was traded."

One of the biggest issues I had aside from his statistical performance and potential of consistency....... was a simple fact that he was an older brother to Vlady, and could've guided him well, while offering protection in the order. The day after he was traded, I knew the loss was a big one.

Thought they'd get swept by Mariners this weekend. Bo and Vladdy are being put to shame by rest of lineup today.

Addison Barger hits his first home run for the Jays, awesome.

I'm confused, is that Alejandro Kirk or Devon White on the basepath?

Well his defence did stink. But it was still a clear mistake to move on from him. Offence still matters. Shatkins went overboard on the defence first valuation approach to fix that 2021 team -- and still do for the most part. In the last 3 years they have acquired what are possibly the 3 best players in MLB in terms of defensive statistics (defensive runs saved) -- Chapman, then Varsho, then Gimenez. But then they sacrifice way too much hitting. Tried to correct it with Santander, but that is clearly not working.

The other problem is since Shatkins weren't going to resign him, they traded him for a cost controlled asset like Swanson. In theory its somewhat defendable if you are spending to your imposed budget cap. But it's also a symptom of a poor farm system that isn't producing enough cost controlled players -- productive players in their first 3 years in the bigs to fill roles -- so you have to trade for them..

Cody Bellinger watch now that we have passed the quarter way mark.
.229, OPS .688
OPS+ of 94
on pace for 18 HR's.

Not sure how management is still around after last year and all their mistakes. But at least they didn't give this guy a 5+ year deal in the winter of 2023. Would have been a disaster.

The AL East is quite the mess this year. Jays at .500 are somehow in second place and only 1.5 games out of the wildcard. Saw some lowside of 85 wins for the top 3, but nowhere near as bad as it has been for Boston and particularly Baltimore.

Yanks have to be satisfied with the 25-18 record, given the injuries they had to their staff. And their run differential suggest they are a 29-14 team, so in terms of run luck their record so far is underselling them. Aaron Judge in terms of "5 year peak" performance is one of the top 5 hitters in MLB history at this point. His season has been ridiculous. Then you have Fried who has been the "Cy Young" so far. Goldschmidt has been a great acquisition so far. Not sure what happened to make Trent Grisham hit like this, but his play in CF has covered up for that $25 million dud Bellinger. Devin Williams has been a massive turd ... they will need to find another arm in the pen to supplement Weaver, but I don't see this team losing first place.

The Jays, in second, are playing like I expected .. basically a .500 team, perhaps up to an 85-88 win team if things all go right, and a little lower too. Vlad, Bo, Santander are all underperforming still. Hoffman and Garcia started great, but they have fell apart. I still see them as that team with a 52-49 at the trade deadline, who decides to hold on to pending FA's like Bassett. Bichette, Green... to me that type of record is the danger zone for this organization. Because it likely means they miss the playoffs, may make a few deals, and getting nothing back.

Red Sox - This team should be better, and I think they get back into playoff contentiuon, There big offseason acquisitions have all been very good - Crochet, Chapman, Bregman (buehler has been meh). Abreu has taken the next step in right. But Duren a major step back, as has Casas, and Devers attitude has been an issue.

Tampa is 19-23. I think at some point there was going to be a year where they just couldn't keep trying to rollover year 4 to year 6 players for year 1/year 2 players. And this might be it. Aranda has been a revelalation, but the veteran bats of Diaz, Lowe and Morel haven't been doing it.

Baltimore 15-26. This is stunning to me. They did really bad moves to their pitching staff, but the hitting of this team has been terrible. I look at their stating lineup and everybody is a bit (or far) below expectations. I think they will fight back to get to at least .500, and might compete for the last WC, but this is one heck of a hole they have created fro themselves.
