I saw some stats once that listed South Korea as the country that buys the most booze per capita. That may be so, but a lot of Russians make their own booze.

My guess would have been the Czech Republic but they were #3 on the list. Those Romanians are drunkards, wow. Interesting that Ireland didn't crack the top 25 especially since they have a holiday that is devoted to drinking.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed in us Canadians. We didn't even make the top 30. It's obvious we need to try harder.

Eastern Europe are the heaviest drinkers. They love their vodka, even the Poles have their own Vodka that they keep in the freezer

After a visit to Amsterdam a few years ago I am not surprised to see the UK on the list - drunk Brits everywhere. I lived in England until I was 14. Drinking is a big part of the culture.

These days I like just a few drinks, enough to enjoy a glow and a buzz, but not enough to be totally inebriated - I got that out of my system when I played rugby on an adult team in Canada when I was 17 - drinks after practice and drinks after games. Brutalize each other on the field, then party with the other team. That was my coming of age experience. Sex came a couple of years later.

I’m surprised Laos was the only Asian country in that list. I thought Japan or Korea would at least be on the list

I know both Japanese and Koreans work hard and also play hard. Which means a lot of alcohol consumption. However, I'm not sure how much drinking they do in the household they seem to be more binge type drinkers to me. I could be wrong tho.

Yeah that’s what I thought too when I went over to Japan there were so many drunk people walking around the streets after the clubs have closed.
