Wait. Does anyone else see what's missing in this thread? Where are bver and friends telling us this is Harper's fault but that the excellent US results are due to Obama?
I think Beaver is on vacation, but you can invite danmand to this thread.Wait. Does anyone else see what's missing in this thread? Where are bver and friends telling us this is Harper's fault but that the excellent US results are due to Obama?
We are not on good terms. I hate all Americans and he hates all Europeans. LOLI think Beaver is on vacation, but you can invite danmand to this thread.
And who gets credit for that? If it is trump, then Trudeau gets credit for the increase in the Canadian market this year.I usually ignore that other poster. I think he is referring to the TSX. However, the Dow and S&P are all time much higher.
There have been 280,000 jobs created this year, regardless of a one month dip.is 71,000 lost jobs (45,000 in Quebec).
If Trump didn't pull out of the Paris Accord and the US was trying to pull its weight for climate change this wouldn't be an issue then.I personally know of 4 manufacturing sector companies in Ontario that have or are moving all or the majority of operations to the US. It is a direct result of Ontario electrical and Fed/Prov tax rates/policies. Including carbon taxes.
600 Canadian jobs that I personally know of. Gone.
Gone to the USA and China where there is no carbon tax.
I do believe human activity influences the climate but I do not think Canada can afford to pay the financial costs to be pious “leaders” when mega filthy polluters like China, India etc freely spew in a day what Canada might emit all year.
I understand that with our forests, Canada is indeed carbon neutral if not a negative contributor.
We should inspire and reward less pollution, but to impose a tax on an existing baseline of energy consumption willultimately hurt our economy and way of living. IMHO anyways
If ifs and buts were candies and nuts...If Trump didn't pull out of the Paris Accord and the US was trying to pull its weight for climate change this wouldn't be an issue then.

Wake up and realize the reality is Canada is not accomplishing anything on a global scale for improving the envrionment. The only thing being accomplished in Canada is a cash grab by the government who has successfully convinced their liberal flock that they are taxing us to death but it's for a good cause.
1.6% of the global co2 emmissions problem.
9.5% of the population living below the poverty line.
Do you think it's time to prioritize which crisis we focus on?

Are you saying if the US stayed in the Paris Accord then Canada would not have a carbon tax and drive away businesses? How dumb are you?If Trump didn't pull out of the Paris Accord and the US was trying to pull its weight for climate change this wouldn't be an issue then.
Boober, there are about 250 countries in the world. Canada is #9 highest emitter of CO2.If ifs and buts were candies and nuts...

Nah, we need to something even if that orange moron is stalling.Unless the shithole polluters in the East slow down, we are all just wasting our money on carbon taxes and the trading of credits scheme.
Is Boober68 the sane brother of Boober69?Holy shit, I agree with someone named Boober68!
Who cares if Canada is 9th? What does rank have to do with it.Boober, there are about 250 countries in the world. Canada is #9 highest emitter of CO2.
Your arguments are mathematically stupid.
So now you think 245 countries don't have to do anything because Trump, China and India aren't acting?Who cares if Canada is 9th? What does rank have to do with it.
It’s about being 1.6% of the problem. Doesn’t matter how many countries on the list.
If the top 4-5 account for most of it and they do nothing, reducing 1.6% means nothing globally.
We have other priorities to focus on.
Weren't you the guy who slipped on a liberal talking point when you repeated the mantra that the U.S. was only lowering carbon emissions by moving manufacturing to China? If China and India don't participate immediately in a global initiative to lower their carbon emissions, the carbon arbitrage will persist for manufacturing. So now you think 245 countries don't have to do anything because Trump, China and India aren't acting?
Your plan gets stupider every day.
Is Boober68 the sane brother of Boober69?
