I know that some cultures (I believe Jews) are circumcised, but I don't know any medical reasons for circumcision.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think 100 million years ago, Jews and Muslims in the desert circumcise because there was no running water to keep clean. This is 2010 and we have evolved since then (I hope).

I have a friend that was'nt circumsized... at the age of about 20, eventhough he was having a very good hygiene, he did an infection (no, it was'nt an STD...). He had to do it and was suffering like crazy... In another hand, it protects and no, this forekin is not useless...

BTW, circumsized or not, what is about pulling the skin down???

I saw a program about the horrors of circumcision. Life is not without risks, circumsize or not. But, why go out of your way to take an unnecessary risk by circumsizing your baby?

Can you explain what would type of medical (historical) reason there is for circumcision? I know that some cultures (I believe Jews) are circumcised, but I don't know any medical reasons for circumcision.
I remember a friend of a friend discussing he got his kids circumcised because he's had inflammation around his foreskin (he was never circumcised), so he figure his kids may inherit the same problem.

the hobby needs more capitalism
More precisely, it is like cutting off a woman's clit hood (the skin covering over the clit). Sorry to be so graphic.
Sometimes, you need to; to drive home the point that male circumcision is as wrong as when done to females.

I'm cut, my parents made the decision. Probably because it's what I grew up with, but I prefer the look of cut. (no homo :) ) I'm glad my parents had it done when I was too small to remember the pain because from what I'm told it's very uncomfortable to have it done when you're an adult.

There's my 2 cents. Don't worry about telling me I'm wrong, I'm not saying I'm right, just I'm right for me.

I'm cut. I happy it was done. I don't remember the pain.

Met a lot of women over the years who won't suck an uncut cock due to funky smell / taste. I've also met a few (a minority) who prefer uncut, but they are vastly outnumbered by the women who prefer cut and I've never had any of them say that they refuse to suck a cut cock (whereas I have met (several) women say they won't suck an uncut cock.) I even dated a female doctor once who didn't see the need for male circumcision, but she admitted that she preferred a cut cock and if she had a son she would have it done to him, though she would feel bad.

So there.

As to the sensation / desensitive arguement - well, I don't want to blow my load in 20 seconds to keep an SP happy. I'm not too sure about your guys who think premature ejaculation is a good thing. Staying power in a man is a good thing in my opinion. As to the the arguement that the orgasm is more intense - horseshit. I have no idea how you'd prove that. Plus I would think it's more of a brain thing.

Cutting a minor's genitals should be considered child abuse and the parents who authorized such a barbaric procedure should be arrested. It is illegal to take a pic of a minor's genitals so why should it be legal to cut a child's genitals?
So you would arrest all Jewish and Muslim parents  Quite content that you aren't a legislator. There is something just a little bit off with being so emotionally invested it was is a rather minor issue.

I have googled it and had talks with many friends and family, but I am still unsure - hence my bringing it here for discussion. I agree that you cannot compare female and male genital cutting - having a degree in human rights, I had my fair share of material on the topic.

My concerns are obviously hygenic - having been in the business for over 10 years, I have seen my fair share of male bits and bites. I have seen some uncircumcised men that cannot even pull their head out and it looks like their penis is sewn shut; I have seen them that the head makes an appearance but it cannot be fully pulled back; I have seen men who react with pain if it gets pulled back to far; I have smelled some pretty funky "cottage cheese dick" which is repulsive - they can't actually clean properly because they can't fully pull the skin back; I have seen some deformed looking heads because they obviously didn't develop properly because they had been squished or held back by foreskin and I have seen some beautiful uncut units that as soon as it becomes erect, the head pops out without resistance. But with that being said, some of the easy sliders said their head was so sensitive, you couldn't touch it.

On the other side, uncut men are so desensitized that its hard for them to get off.

Obviously, I would teach my son to properly clean himself and the potential consequences of not doing so, but I cannot imagine so many mothers not doing that - so how come I have seen so many cases over the years that makes me think that, just like the size of a woman's clitoris and aerola, the affects of foreskin is totally up to nature and kind of like a wild card - you just dont know what you are gonna get?
The reason the skin doesn't pull back is because they have a medical condition called "Phimosis". It is a condition where the foreskin becomes fused with the glans, and can only be "fixed" by performing a circumcision.

Circumcision was traditionally a Jewish thing. When the Nazis were stripping the prisoners and deciding which shower to send prisoners, water or toxic gas, circumcision was the deciding factor. ...Just saying ...be careful.

Just sayin' to be careful... or Nazi Germany will gas you?

WHO (World Health Organization) and UNAIDS (the United Nation's AIDS/HIV program) released data that circumcision reduces female-to-male HIV infection by approximately 60%. The AAP (American Association of Pediatrics) says that circumcized men are less likely to have penile cancer and urinary tract infections (full study).

So teach him how to look after himself THOROUGHLY.

I'm not sure about the whole circumcision-as-mutilation thing, but I would not circumcise a child simply because of the pain factor: there are many complications with infants and anaesthetics and they are only used in 4% of circumcisions.

While a grown male penis has the glans and the foreskin completely unattached, the infant male penis' foreskin is still attached to the glans and needs to be torn free in order to be removed. Your glans is the equivalent of my clit, and no one is tearing anything off my clit.

Interesting to see the poll result running almost 50/50 with a very slight edge to the no's. Betting it's 100% whatever the voter had or didn't is the way the vote went.
