I can't believe no one has mentioned:

The Larry Sanders Show
Fawlty Towers
The Office (British and American versions)
You have very good taste! :) I love Larry Sanders, Fawlty Towers (even though there are only 12 episodes?) and The Office although I'm not familiar with the British version. All I have to do is look at Steve Carrell and I laugh.

Also:

Seinfeld
Curb your Enthusiasm
Cheers
Frasier
Three's Company
Golden Girls
Law & Order (while the new ones are good I still prefer the older reruns - the ones with Jerry Orbach and Chris Noth)
Family Guy
Twilight Zone (the original)

I try to watch a lot less t.v. these days but another one I'm really starting to get into is Big Bang Theory. It satisfies the geek in me. lol

The British version is the original. If you like Ricky Gervais you'll love it. I have some recorded if you're interested. :)

A couple of people have picked 'Weeds' which I've thought about picking up on DVD.

Is this comparable to anything out there.
Is it a comedy / drama?

Its been on for 5 seasons. A comedy about a suburban single mom who sells weed to support herself and her family. Really funny stuff. Check it out at IMDB.

According to IMDB there are only 12 episodes in two seasons. I remember Cleese being interviewed somewhere, and he was asked about why only 12, he said something like, that is all there was supposed to be.
There are only 12 episodes of Faulty Towers. 6 episodes per season (2).

Didn't know NN was local. 20 Minute Workout was also local shot at CITYTV.
Yes Night ride, Cirque du Soleil is not the only Canadian contribution to global cultural enrichment.
Naked News was founded and produced in Toronto and continues to raise eyebrows (and other body parts) all over the world.

Geeeee, top ten....

10. Leave it to Beaver - Fun, kids never change. Beaver's teachers were hot.
9. Criminal Minds - A dramatic take on several A&E crime series
8. Family Affair - I used to masturbate to Cissy. I had a bunch of her photos that I used to blow my load on
7. Magnum PI - I saw Tom Selleck in Yorkville during the 80's and exposed my cock to him. He gave me that Magnum smile and eyebrow shuffle.
6. TBD - I know I am missing some show I like, but I am drawing a blank
5. All in the Family - Early epsiodes the best - Once the Meathead & Gloria moved, it sucked
4. Get A Life - Zany, bizarre and fun
3. Dexter - For some reason I can relate to it
2. Simpsons - Hilarious and more real than life itself
1. Barney Miller - Incredible writing and acting

1. Stampede Wrestling - Leo Burke and the sleeper, Kamala, Gorilla Monsoon "In the mean time and in between time time that's it, another edition of Stampede Wrestling".

2. Flintstones - Fred gives Wilma a bowling ball for her birthday, Cary Granite "I'll have rocks on the rocks and put it in a dirty glass", Ann Margrock!

3. Hawaii 5-O - book him Dano!

4. Dukes of Hazzard - Boss Hogg ordering sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane to deploy the movable fire hydrants, Daisy's short shorts.

5. Gunsmoke - sheriff Matt Dillon was a bit of a drip but Festus was cool and Kitty was a good SP.

6. Muppet Show - Statler and Waldorf should have had their own show.

7. Sesame Street - I love the Count!

8. Star Trek - captain Picard is dreamy, I would definitely give councellor Troi an envelope for a 2 hour session.

9. Some show I never saw.

10. SCTV. the best.

My personal favorites

1. Three's Company. Absolutely brilliant comedy by the late great John Ritter.
.
I have to say this show aired when I grew up & I watched it maybe 5-10 times, then I figured out that it was a very poor excuse for entertainment.

Sure Chrissy was cute & Joyce showed off her tits, cool , but the acting was terrible and the story lines were so predictable, I tuned it out & chose to walk the dog at that time

From what I hear John Ritter was a honest and decent person and very much a family man. For that I was sadden by his early demise, however the term great should be reserved for names like Bogart, Brando and De Niro.
John Ritter was not what I would define as great.

Like everything else one persons idol is another's waste of time & if you thought he was great, so be it
