Not really. In the shoes of the victim, I too would be traumatized and terrified.

But you can't kill or imprison for life every wrongdoer in order to satiate your desire for revenge. Crime will always be with us. It will always be upsetting and traumatic to the victims.

You have to balance reformation and fair treatment of the offender with protection of the victim and society.

This is where you say "But the courts failed to protect the public in this case because the criminal was released on bail and promptly re offended."

And this is where I say "But the law and order people only publicize instances where the system fails and not the majority of cases where the system does not fail, as part of their campaign of stirring up outrage, anger and desire for vengeance."

And that's the conversation, right?
Spoken like a true liberal.
I don’t understand why liberals are always defending criminals.
This guy needs to be locked up for at least 5 years.
Putting him back on the street is endangering the public.

Here's the problem. These are minor crimes and detaining him in custody will end up him serving more time in jail than he would if he pleaded guilty and was sentenced.

And that's at the public expense.

And he's probably got mental health problems - which is why he attacks people.

So you geniuses solve the problem for the justice system. I'll listen while you rant about bail orders.
Assault causing bodily harm can be treated summarily but I doubt in this instance. The victim's injuries were pretty severe and this guy has a history of violence. Its a felony and could carry up to 10 years in prison. I doubt he'll get close to that however. It is Canada after all.

I understand why. It's been studied that people on the left wing spectrum are more likely to have a mental illness than a person on the right.
They're mostly sick people who are perfectly fine with criminals roaming the streets- like the two deranged left wing judges in the states harbouring illegal immigrant gang members at their homes- what mentally sane judge does that?

Violent criminals like the person in the ops story need to be locked away from harming fully functioning contributing people in society.

Actually you can. In the USA. 200 year sentences for such shit. They don't fuck around down there. It's not satiating my desire for revenge. It's satiating my desire for some kind of fucking order in society. So many of these cunts being released hours after hacking people with machetes and on and on. Send them to labor camps. Repair roads. Do something useful for society instead of being a financial and psychological burden on society. They need to be locked up or terminated. Fuck them.

Look how well the anti-judge propaganda is working,
It's disgusting, but impossible to ignore its effectiveness.

But it works primarily with angry, unsophisticated people who would vote far right anyway, if that is an option.

So it doesn't change much. The Sun group of newspapers has been wanking this wank for decades - soft judges, weak left wing pols, fiendish black and brown skinned criminals and immigrants (usually both), resolute and heroic cops, innocent victims. It's a broken record.

You have a talent for losing your temper and overly simplifying complicated situations that you don't understand and then venting.

Yeah, he shouldn't have got bail. But errors happen. And the criminal courts err on the side of granting bail, because the alternative is to lock away people who are then often found not guilty. That basically fucks their lives and costs the taxpayer $$$$ to no good purpose.

Person concerned likely has mental health problems - probably some combination of OCD and schizophrenia. Butchering him or sending him to a labour camp for the rest of his life is dumb and childish.

No civilized western judicial system is going to even contemplate doing the nasty fantasy shit that you dream about.

It's funny how cities like Dubai and Singapore are very tough on crime, and also happen to have very low crime rates.

Must be a coincidence

But it maintains.
The idea is to have it as background radiation keeping people in line and agreeing with what they want to do.

In this case, though, I'm talking about the narrative in the US. Look how quickly "Ken" has absorbed " like the two deranged left wing judges in the states harbouring illegal immigrant gang members at their homes " as a narrative.

Ken absorbed that message a long time ago and loves the way it sounds. He will always believe this stuff.
