Does it really matter? Newsom's tweet was kind of a dig at the Trump Administration. I'm sure someone is being chewed out by the lack of readiness. Seriously, I have friends who are in the Guard and they can be deployed immediately. I like your use of the phrase "bug out".

Interestingly, I am not sure if the State or the U.S. Military is responsible for readiness of the Guard. The Guard is somewhat of a hybrid organization.

My point was essentially don't reflexively overreact to a politician's tweet especially one with Presidential ambitions. And please, don't tell me I don't understand logistics.
Bug out is I think old military term. Covid got my SO thinking about it so I put together two bags and a Rubbermaid tub. Bags have clothing, essentials, two sleeping bags, blow up pillows, cash and the like. Tub has food(stuff we use and I swap out every six months), extra water and the like. Highly likely to never be used but if it stops a few sleepless nights worth every penny.

I see through Newsom as well. But to say Trump isn't a methodical thinker and planner is an understatement. He is one of those(I've worked for a few) who prefer chaos, thinking it's better. And love the adrenaline. So yes, he takes the hit. And starting this weekend it looks like many more NG platoons are about to get tested.

I agree with this for the most part. There's an element of testosterone fueled chaos.

Directionally, I might agree with him on many issues (not all). However, his methods can be chaotic. While I might agree with his views on trade and China, thinking you're going to reverse decades of trade policy in three months is absurd. This not to mention you have the people who can't really follow issues who think this wasn't a problem under Biden why is this problem now.

What I am hoping is that American multinationals will think twice about offshoring. People talk about uncertainty from tariffs, but longer term businesses have to think about supply chains relying on China and other locales. Key industries will be defended or supported. I don't think this is controversial, but the U.S. (maybe with Canada's participation) needs to get on with rapid development of our rare earth deposits.

As it stands now, the American public support Trump on immigration. He did not have this level of support in 2017-2019. The Biden Administration's actions caused the pendulum to swing on the issue of immigration.

The US is no longer an ally of Canada, and after yesterday's attacks on Iran, the world isn't likely to think the US is more than a rogue state at the end of its empire.

Its starting to look like trump is now pissing off the american oligarchs as well.

How can TARZAN TACO achieve immortality at his glorious military parade? He can wear General Patton's garb then shit himself.
