GSP had to win, some fans are just catching on to this entertainmnet, and would've been disappointed already.

The fight was a lot closer than many believe and wasn't the walkthrough for GSP that some overzealous GSP nut huggers thought it would be.

When you look at the stats by round, you could see that Shields was more of the aggressor in pretty much every round by throwing more strikes than GSP. I think the fortuitous 3rd and 4th round take downs by GSP is what won the arrogant frenchman the decision, because his striking accuracy dropped off and Shields really started landing more. Sheilds clearly out struck GSP in the 3rd and 5th rounds, the fight round landing 25 to GSP's 15. If there was 6 rounds, Shields would have won that fight.

Does throwing equate to landing? Because if I'm not mistaken, GSP shook Shields up quite a bit.
Again, the arrogance thing, you need to look it up in the dictionary and understand its meaning, you're most definitely confusing it for the word "humble".
If Shields was better than GSP, why wouldn't he finish up the 1-eye-arrogant-French-dude? ....yaaaa.....that's it.

He should have won, you're right, GSP was fighting with one eye and was bleeding, whatsa matta'? ...Shields couldn't take the dude down?
He barely grappled with Kampman in his last fight and Kampman is known for his STRIKING, NOT his grappling. lol

Hey, if you know how to shadow boxe, you should join the UFC. If you manage not to get submitted and KO'ed, you may win by punching the air. Shield landed many jabs whereas St-Pierre got him with a few overhand. St-Pierre actually knocked him down twice(one with a kick to the head and one with a punch). He did not jump on him after the knockdowns because Shields BJJ is excellent.

Anyway, if anyone still have access to the fight, the poke in the eye call by some people was right. Fighters hands are loose when throwing the punch and only make a fist just before contact. Check out round two when Shields hand did not make a fist on time.
