No. I would have Ukraine and Russia stop fighting. And agree to the following.

- That Russia give back Donbas.
- That Russia keep Crimea (that is not going to be given back one way or another)
- That Ukraine stay militarily neutral, but free to be more "western oriented" in terms of economy etc., There would obviously need to be security guarantees for both Ukraine and Russia.
...
Um, wasn't that exactly the status before Putin invaded?

...The Russia/China alliance...
No such thing. China is simply hoping that Russia can weaken NATO enough that China is the clear #1 (and they would not be put out in the slightest if Russia became a non-power.

p.s. You say that Putin would rather start WW3 than lose to Ukraine. Have you considered that maybe that kind of attitude is exactly why so many of us are critical of him?

The Russians have the ability to throw bodies and equipment over and over again, which is what they will do. It is a tried and tested Russian tactic. ...
And look how quickly it's working. It's taken them close to a year to sort of capture Bakhmut and more than a year at Avdiivka with no result. At this rate, Putin will control all of Donbas by 2055.

Oh no, did Canada give Russia money???
What did they spend the first 100 billion on, why do they need more?

Are they setting the dollar bills on fire and dropping them down on Russian soldiers from Kamikaze drones?

Put your ideology on pause and try to think, you can do it.

let me see..tanks, planes,.
No tanks and no fighter jets, don't count the 5 broken ones they got from us.

You can't win against Russia without tanks and fighter jets.

Why no one is selling tanks and planes to them if everybody knows they can't win without them?

Ukraine: "We need tanks and fighter jets to beat Russia...

West: "Oh you cant have tanks and planes , but here is another 100 billion , hope it helps"

So you are in favor of Nato supplying more tanks than the ones already promised and a bunch of F16s to really go hog wild on Russia??

So best to allow Putin to take Ukraine because Juan is worried about the money being spent?
100 billion dollars is not just money, it's a lot of money.

It's twice as much as Russia's military yearly budget.

And yes I do worry, it's my money.

I'm not in favor, but that's what is needed to win.

Why just throw money at it?

Some of it is your's and my money.

This is in response to the statement of Canada giving Ukraine money.

No they didn't give 100 billion dollars to Ukraine, that would be about 4 to 5 percent of our GDP. I am guessing if it's true, that 100 is what the entire west gave to Ukraine.

Considering the US alone spends about 600 billion on defense and all of NATO about 1.2 trillion a year on defense... every year, year in year out, 100 billion isn't that much.
For that money we keep the Russians away from Romania [part of NATO] Hungary and a good part of the Polish border.
For that money the Ukrainians have probably taken out 2000 tanks [they say 3500 but, I doubt it], and wore down their stores to the point were they have to refurbish T-62s and even T-54/T54. Russia has used so many shells and rockets that the former, they have had to cut their firing by a third and probably have to burn through more. If they start getting gear from Best Korea and the PRC, it means South Korea and Taiwan are a bit safer which is good for NATO and the US in particular.
We get a friendly country in the region that is better able to defend itself instead of either a Russian controlled puppet state if the initial 3 day push succeeded or worse more border land directly on Russian occupied clay.
We gave China a very clear message that 1: We probably won't stand by if they invade Taiwan with those vital chip factories. 2: That even if we didn't stand by that their military is probably also shit, fuck corruption is so bad that ranks are bought with bribes. Winnie the Pooh might not have known how good the Chinese military would be before, but now he knows.
We calm the fears of border regions a bit. Even so Poland is talking about spending 5% of GDP on defense just in case but that will probably go back to 3. They don't trust the Russians and although they might trust us more that we would show up... in time.
We get Finland. Fucking Finland. If the Finns killed John Wicks dog and stole his car the movie would be over pretty quick with Wick accepting it and moving on.

And not to be cold hearted but all that damage to the Russian military is being done by people for the most part are very keen to fight and die to defend their country, we get to grind down Russia without having to spill our blood. As long as they want to fight, it's the least we could do to pay the bill, hell even the full bill and more. They are doing us a solid and we should return the favor. Fuck we should send peace keepers along the Uke Belarus border so they could redeploy those troops to the front and spend even more gear. Not only will their efforts neuter Russian ability to be jerks but once everything is over we we can bring their full army up to NATO standards and even better bring them in the fold, well wouldn't that be worth paying for.

Also it's probably not quite 100 billion, as I understand it the used military gear is being costed at full new value, when some of it at least is older and due for replacement or in storage. But lets say it is 100 billion.
With that aid the Ukrainians are taking the full brunt of Russia with probably the 3rd best army in the world [well it used to be]
Also the Ukraine economy has taken a massive hit, they need that money just to pay the bills and keep going.

So for about 10 percent of military spending and say 0.2% of GDP which in counties that spend about 40% of their GDP on all government spending, it's probably one of the highest value to money spending options out there, up there with medical prostitution for fat guys and feline health care.

Unless you are Russian or just have this knee jerk hatred of the US and all things west in which case, as far as I am concerned you can consume a bag of obese enlarged phallises, phallisi? whatever.
