I'm planning to be in Providence, RI this summer. I have never been to a strip club in the US. Fantasies and Cadillac Lounge look to be a couple of good spots. What is the protocol in a club especially the VIP/champignon rooms - are the dances there per dance or is there a fixed cost in these areas of a club? I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

I haven't been to a lot of US clubs but the ones I have visited made me appreciate Canadian clubs. I would say don't waste your money in a US club. In my experience, the best strip clubs in North America are in Montreal (or the surrounding area). I was in what was supposed to be one of the better clubs in Denver a few years ago and the best dancers were from Quebec, except the dances cost twice as much and they were topless only air dances. Having said all that, it's been a few years since I've been to a US club so maybe things have changed, and I've never been to Providence.

I went to a strip club in Cocoa Beach Florida last winter. $10 cover and the drink prices made me appreciate Ontario SC drink prices lol. Girls were on stage for 2 songs, no bottoms off. VIP dances were at least $30 per song, and in asking one of the girls what I got for that money, she demonstrated right in front of the bar for me. No touching, topless only air dance, just like described above. Sorry, not for me lol. Had only been to one other US strip club, 15 years ago in Dayton Ohio. Figured with a big university and air force crowd, the clubs would be good there. Nope, just as I experience last year in Florida.

Actually there is one good club in Dayton (**********) where the dances are 2/30 and the mileage exceeds anything I've experienced in YYZ save the extras

OP check out our friends on Terb's sister board MERB which has a high percentage of members from around the area you describe. Just because it may often be less than what you would find in Canada doesn't mean it isn't a fun and worthwhile experience.

It all depends. I've been to clubs in the US where things go as far and as quickly as they do at some of the more notorious clubs in Toronto or Montreal, and I've been in clubs where there's essentially no interaction between you and the dancer except tipping them on stage, and everything in between.

I have no idea about the clubs in question. Not my area. But expect to pay more than you usually pay at a Canadian club, to get less in terms of mileage, but to possibly have more fun. Again, it all depends.

I don't like the Toronto clubs because the extras aren't what I go to a strip club for. I go there to have fun, to relax, to watch a UFC fight on the TVs, to talk to a few pretty girls, and maybe have a little more. The Toronto area clubs I've been to have been more wham, bam, thank you ma'am. If you pick the right place, and if it's your thing, you can find great and true gentlemen's clubs that are fun places to hang out that just happen to have topless or nude women. Or you can find the seedy places where you can get your rocks off. It's all about what you're looking for. There are a few US-based sites (I don't know if we're allowed to post them around here) that can give you some hints, but the truth is that there's a lot more on your to actually do your own scouting.

Good luck.

Only ever been to a US club once, in Barre Vermont a number of years ago. First, had to go around the back of this building, then down some stairs to the basement, (WTF?) Had to pay $10 cover to big biker dude at door. My $8 rum & coke was like 95% ice, girls on stage were staggering around like they were stoned, topless only, at the same time you had to stick $1 bills in the G-strings of girls coming by, (same big biker dude was watching to make sure you did, so what can you do...) Stupid me, thought I`d try a private dance anyway, WRONG. Very mechanical, rough, absolutely no touching allowed, very little conversation, all business, for $20 US! (exchange rate was around 30% then). Complete waste of money. Nope, really made me appreciate the great Montreal girls we get here in Ont.

I live in the US. What is revealed (skin wise) and allowed (touching, mileage) at each location depends upon its local county ordinances. Some will be stricter than others. Many will post rules on the wall. In others the girls will be very clear what is allowed and what is not. You need to ask, or keep an eye open. Most have VIP areas that are in the relative open. Some have back rooms. If that is the case, you will get further. Overall, it will cost you more than Toronto and you will get less. A good place to start is www.stripclublist.com. Look for the state and city you will be. Check the comments on the section for that club and you will get a relative idea of what it is like. Best thing, though is when you are there - ask!

I've been to many on business trips over the years and none....None!!! compare to Canadian clubs. Most are real money pits where you have to tip everyone from the dude seating you to the waitresses to girls just approaching you. The very best clubs in the world are right here in Quebec (especially smaller towns). followed by Mississauga/ Brampton area. The one time I went into a champagne room vip in FL it was expensive, mechanical, and a total waste of time.

My experience too. There are usually two types of SC's in the US. Ones that serve alcohol usually have hot girls but no extras and topless only. The will sell (phony) champagne and the girls will promise the world but delivery nothing in their expensive VIP areas. Juice bars (non-alcohol) are wilder but lower standard of girls.

US strip clubs are way different. If they are mainstream, the girl does one dance (ONE!!), then tours the floor asking for tips. If you don't give EVERY stripper $1 or more when she walks around, the bouncers will come talk to you. That's one dance (3 minute song) then a tip. Even if you tip her only $1, that can cost you $30 to $40 an hour or more, with drinks included. For getting to see the girls do ONE DANCE. No blanket dance, writhing on the floor fully naked - just one standing dance, maybe topless, unlikely bottomless (depends on the state), then give her a dollar or more. Plus drinks.

On the other hand, I've had more offers of "extra special private time" at US strip clubs than Canadian ones. But only at the clubs in industrial districts or by airports, not the tourist clubs in the tourist zones. Costs vary. Over all I agree with the other posters who say that US strip clubs are for the most part a waste of money.

In the U.S. we have a very powerful Christian based group that helps zillions of cities across the U.S. pass enforceable anti human contact rules so dancers are nothing more than sex objections to be gawked at. The enforcement of the laws and severity vary drastically between cities.

In Florida they tried hard to get the "3 foot rule" where dancer could never come close than 3 feet - but it was overturned.

The group started in Phoenix in 1999 before going national. Dancers had to be in funny sitting with legs over arms of chairs since her body could not be in contact with groin area. Technically fully clothed hugs were illegal since breasts can not touch a patron. At public hearing and in Council meetings the "Christian ladies" were outraged that the city had allowed any contact with a strip club dancer. If this was allowed to continue she would leave such a city of sin...etc..... The Christans framed it to "protect neighborhoods and children."

Afterwards there were news reports of undercover cops spending long nights drinking in clubs watching for the slightest infraction. I knew some club owners and one had to shut down for 2 weeks or face huge fines after slight touch was seen by a cop. Today there is far less enforcement.

This was at the same time that swing clubs were made illegal also to "protect neighborhoods and children". A news crew went to the largest swing club and the TV camera scanned the parking lot and neighborhood asking "where are the children and neighborhoods". All around was industrial buildings and railroad tracks. The couple that owned the club had to shut down or go to prison.

Strip club experience vary by U.S. city basically depending on how powerful the Christian organization against them are. We don't enjoy the same adult freedoms as you folks in Canada. Which is why I enjoy trips to Canada - when its not cold - I use to live in Minneapolis - had enough cold and snow - so have been in Phoenix 20+ years.
