I am so disappointed in how American style q anon ridiculousness has infiltrated our nation.

Scientists and medical professionals in this country spend their entire live in service to their field. To question their knowledge because you read something on facebook, or saw a youtube video is just depressing to me.

Everybody has their own choice in life, so whatever. But damn. A Canadian anti-vaxxer is just about the most crazy thing I would have ever thought of. If you think your immune system is strong enough to overcome every virus, bacteria, fungus etc, I don't know what to tell you about human history. Major portions of humans have been saved by vaccines. And they will continue to be in the future despite the anti-vax insanity. Millions of people died of the spanish flu, black plague, etc and stopped dying in large numbers because of vaccines. NOT a miraculous immune response without medical intervention.

Anyways, I'm wasting valuable time trying to explain things to an anti-vaxer on an escort review message board. So I'll end it by saying enjoy the ladies now that things are opening up...because of the vaccine.

First reason is that the American government is basically an evil empire, and it's constantly lying to its own people, and the rest of the world, so they have very little credibility with anybody. Even when they are telling the truth nobody believes them. Since even science can be manipulated by this government to fit its own agenda.

It has resulted in even science becoming politically-biased. There is now such a thing as "right-wing science" and "left-wing science". For example, talking about Covid vaccines is "left-wing", while talking about anti-viral drugs is "right-wing". Since Canada is so heavily influenced by the Americans, lots of cultural links between Canadian and American people, and since the Canadian government is basically a client state of the USA, similar though much smaller amounts of distrust in Canadian institutions result.

If u decide to be vacinated its your own choice , we all have been vaccinated before as a child and we dont talk about it , now if u got your 2 dose that nice but it doesnt give nothing in public and many are sick anywhoo ,people are not sick right now cause its the summer and it not related to the vaccin ,will see how good they are just before the winter went they will lock them up again

I get your explanation but don't agree. At all. The distrust in science in the US has more to do with the anti intellectual campaign that has flooded right wing media for decades. Just watch a fox news segment for a night (if you can stomach it). They literally ridicule people who have university degrees. You can't reason with people like that. They are too far gone. And it is media both traditional and social that has convinced half the country that education (real education, not youtube and facebook, but real studying from experts and intellectuals) is somehow evil. Trump: "I love the uneducated". What the hell does that even mean? You love people that don't want to learn?

This is symptomatic of a coordinated attack to keep the voter base dumb so they never question decisions. The right base has been co-opted by a fringe movement that is anti everything. Anti immigrant. Anti black people, anti - LGBTQ, anti climate change reform, etc. They have been convinced that things should return to the way they were in 40's and 50's. And they know full well, life was only good for a certain segment of the population at that time. At least now, one can overcome those built in hurdles by being rich.

That's all true, but in fairness the left is increasingly dominated by those who make no secret of their contempt for "flyover country" and who hate everything they value. A pox on both the self-righteous woke progressives and the conspiracy-ridden moronic conservatives.

The real progressives are the economic populists. The "woke" progressives are just another branch of the identity politics spewing shitlibs, taking over the term "progressive". Bernie Sanders was considered a progressive, but he was criticized for not spending enough time talking about typical identity politics stuff, and just talking economics.
