Vancouver police go to wrong address and beat an innocent man

At best I smell a law suit and settlement. From what I've heard, the cops should be charged criminal and vigorously pursued, but that not going to happen. What is it Vancouver police. They've had a number of this same stuff go down in the last little while.
Forget suing for a minute, what the hell are plainclothes police doing answering a call?

He'll probably get some sort of compensation but paid for by us the tax payer and not the 2 pigs who beat him up - they'll carry on 'earning' their money.
Sound like the guy did not speak or understand English too well and did not understand the plainclothes cops and tried to close the door when he was assaulted.
That is one reason the police wear uniforms, likely the guy would have known it was the police if they were wearing uniforms.
Its common knowledge sometimes people breaking in to a home first knock on a door to see if anybody is home. I did not see a time of day this assault took place.

As for time of day the article said : "on Tuesday in the early morning hours"
He claims he did not shut the door on them.

The cops will be fried, and there will be resentment in the ranks of the police department because the chief did not defend his own cops. Chief Chu has to stomp on the cops hard now, if he does not he looses the respect of the public and the cops. If I were the chief, the best way to handle this is to get rid of this situation as quick as he could, Get the victim a deal he can live with, and try get the cops to take early retirement and resign. The Olympics are in a few days, they do not need the shit.

As details come to light, the cop made two big errors. They didn't know the layout of the house, with multiple dwellings and one entrance way as well as they didn't confirm their suspect/target. They'll be riding a desk 'with pay' for a while.
I'm surprised the blindly fervent cop supporters (self-proclaimed "law and order" types) haven't made up excuses for the cops' behaviour...
