I'm not stuck in that time and space of the early years of the O'keefe because I wasn't even born then. lol
I remember it well during the late 80's and 90's and it Toronto was far from "drab and gray".
I'm glad you replied though and let me re-post this great shot of Yonge street though.

The Norman Beal Men’s and Boys Wear store.

Located at Eglinton Square between the original two sections of the plaza. The west end Dominion opened first in 1953, then, as the two parts expanded, a second Dominion store opened at the east end in 1956. Norman Beal was build on the former Harris Park Road allowance which orginally separated the two parts of the plaza.

More colour, more life.
You definitely didn't experience Yonge St. in the 90's then. Yonge St. is absolutely dull and grey compared to 1993 with all the store fronts with various colours, actual neon and paint, not glass, concrete and LEDs.
