A few years ago I had a severe bout of virtigo. I first noticed it when I was sleeping on my back and when I turned to sleep on my side my head would get very dizzy.
Then when I was up and out and about whenever I would bend down my head would start to spin and feel very dizzy. I don't recall how it went away after a few days.
This morning as I was getting out of bed I quickly turned to my left to check the time on the nightstand clock then sat up quickly on the side of the bed to get up.
That's when my head started to spin and I had to quickly lay back down on the bed to stop my head from spinning.
When I got up I noticed whenever I would bend my head down to look down I would start to feel lightheaded.

Anyone else here has virtigo?

In many cases, it's an inner ear problem.
Yes it is usually an inner ear problem, I get it' 2-4 times a year. It is called meuniers disease. I take a medication called Betihistine for about 3 days and it helps. Warning, try not to move your head up and down or side to side quickly and don't try to drive, or read or watch tv. There is nothing worse than sitting up in your bed in the morning and watching the floor and walls spinning in circles. Vertigo.

I got vertigo as a side effect of the covid vaccine. Every time I get the shot I get vertigo at night for 3-5 nights. It's fun! My head spins and I thrash in my bed. Needless to say I'm done getting the vaccine

Nothing much can be done but try these exercises.. apparently there is a build up of crystals or calcium deposits (??) in the inner ear and sudden shifts causes these granules to mess with the filaments in the inner ear causing your brain to lose balance.

Yes, I had a bad case years ago and went to Toronto General. The ceiling was spinning. They did a CT scan and sent me to Western for an MRI. After all that, the opinion was that it was the crystals in the ear.
Around this time I was following that Gifford Jones doctor with his high vitamin C and lysine cure all. I wonder, because I was often getting a lot of earwax and often had a plugged ear.. Maybe this caused it.

GTA & Thereabouts...
Near 20 years ago, I remember hiking up a mountain and looking over the edge of a true cliff... Hundreds of feet down. I got the sensation of walking right off. Freaked me right out and I've been hesitant of true heights ever since. Put a guardrail or a plane window in front of me and I don't feel weird at all.
