Hi everyone. Here is a question I thought I'll ask all of you here; in your experience, which businesses in Canada (other than SPs/MPs/SCs) offer the BEST customer service?

Please note, I am talking about non-sex related businesses, so PLEASE do not tell me about SPs/MPs/SCs!

As funny as it sounds, I have been very satisfied with Air Canada.
Their motto is
"We are not happy until you are unhappy"

There is a night and day difference between Air Canada and WestJet customer service.
Care to guess why?

I haven't been impressed very much with the service levels I get in Cdn companies. I think this has changed for the worse over the last couple of decades......or maybe my expectations are higher? In any event, service provided by Cdn companies pales in comparison to the service I get in the US when I visit there. Just my nickles worth.

Customer Service in Canadian companies is an oxymoron.

The CS in Canada in general, is abysmal. Compared with the US, we are a joke. And in you want to experience *really* how customers should be treated, just go to Asia or the UAE.

Europe and Latin America are also, in general, wasteland when it comes to receiving good customer service.

I just don't get why we Canadians are like that. We've lost the Manufacturing sector, we've lost the high tech sector, we are left with natural resources and the services industry.

It won't be long before we lose those ones too. And then?

I have never flown west jet but the two friends I have that did both said never again.
I've flown on air canada many times and never had any issues. Nothing to rave over, but nothing to complain about either.

I disagree with you about losing the manufacturing sector, as both Cambridge, ON and Woodstock, ON are home to large Toyota manufacturing plants, and Bombardier continues to manufacture aircraft and trains. As for high-tech, in spite of the current travails of Blackberry (formerly RIM), and there are many smaller high-tech firms based out of the Kitchener/Waterloo area and Toronto.

The CBC finding is based solely at telephone customer service, and wouldn't take into account face-to-face customer service, which is also an important component of businesses.

LMFAO. WestJet and Air Canada are not even in the same league. From cs to the actual airplanes. I fly both many times and Air Canada belongs in North Korea. WestJet is 100 steps above.

Air canada is nothing special, but to say it belongs in north korea is pretty stupid. I've been on many different airlines and air canada is very average.
