Great news!!!Leafs have their man. $50 million over 8 yrs. now the pressure will be on. You don't pay a guy like Babcock that kind of money not to make the playoffs.
You were right mjg1. Well done!I'm from Detroit area, and I think he's going to Toronto. He's already won in Detroit, if he can win it in Toronto, he would be a God! In Detroit he is kind of taken for granted. I mean hockey is 3rd in Detroit, it goes Lions, Tigers then the Wings and Pistons last. When the Pistons were rolling in the late 80's, the Wings were dead last in popularity. So why not go to Toronto and be the big fish.
Yes since Babcock is technically still under contract to Detroit until June 30th.Do the Leafs have to give up a 3rd round pick?
I told you guys he was going to Toronto, it's almost the perfect opportunity not to pass up. I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong!I'm from Detroit area, and I think he's going to Toronto. Good call. I never thought he would come here. I thought he would resign with Detroit. Buffalo pissed though. LOL!I told you guys he was going to Toronto, it's almost the perfect opportunity not to pass up. I may not always be right, but I'm never wrong!![]()
His time in Detroit had just ran its course, and he's still young enough to have that fire. He's a Canadian and their are two great storied organizations, Montreal and Toronto. The Red Wings are nice and good, but it's not the Meeca of hockey! He has done almost everything else, so why not accept the challenge of turning the Maple Leafs around. I wish Mike Babcock all the best in Toronto!Good call. I never thought he would come here. I thought he would resign with Detroit. Buffalo pissed though. LOL!
