If Alberta seperates, we'd need to import some coalition, to help vacuum up all the piles of extra money we'd have laying around. Scum suckers...

Alberta's golden area was short lived, with $40/Barel Oil prices on the horizon their little bubble has already burst. So Alberta can tuck it's tail and get back in line for the Ontario hand-out. Everyone hates Ontario, it's ok we are used to it. When things were good in Ontario economically I never once heard anyone saying we should seperate. Alberta lives high on the hog for a year due to Massive Oil speculation and now they are the cat's meow, what a joke.

Buddy,

Alberta was a "have" province back in the days of $16 oil; they'll come through the $40 period fine.

Typical Ontarian... Ignorant, self-centered, mis-informed, and stupid. It'll be
Toronto, Windsor and Hamilton lined up for welfare cheques, not Albertans.

Alberta has bigger problems than it's letting on.

It takes 10 barrels of water to produce 1 barrel of tar sands oil. To make the project viable the waters of the Athabaska river have been diverted. This has created huge lakes of contaminated water that is sterilizing the surrounding ecosystem. Oil workers cannot drink the local water it has to be shipped in.

The glaciers that feed the Saskatchewan river system are receeding and the land in Southern Alberta cannot sustain the rapid urbanization that is occurring. The rich farmlands that produces the best beef in the world (forgedabout that American shit Ruth Cris serves) is being hit hard by drought. Unless the Alberta government takes drastic measures it will no longer be self sufficient in food.

My gorgeous physiotherapist is from Alberta, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas when she visits her family, she's happy in Toronto. As for Dick Meat (appropriate name), I flicked him a toonie on my last visit to Calgary.

Albertan's are just pissed off right now. Their Saviour Stephen Harper has turned out to be a dud. They are having a hard time dealing with this fact. When ever they have a problem they simply lay the blame at on Ontario or Ottawa. I believe they were voted as the biggest cry babies in Canada. From what I have read here I understand why.

Bullshit. Who told you that, David Suzuki??? or Al gore? As a matter of fact, shipping potable water into camps in the oilpatch is standard procedure, and it has NOTHING to do with polluted water. Albertans work hard and demand the very best working conditions. I'd like to see you attempt what the average Albertan does day in and day out... You wouldn't last 5 minutes, and you'd be begging for Mommy.

The amount of pollution produced by the oilsands in trivial, if you take into context the enormity of the operation, the mechanics involved and the dollar value of the product. I guarantee you, the most polluted piece of Alberta is an immaculately clean heaven, compared to the defiled squalor of filth Southern Ontarians live in.

Southern Alberta has been in a severe drought for nearly 30 years. Interesting point you made, but again, not relevent. Alberta has never and never will be self sufficient, foodwise. But we will always have plenty of cattle, and you are correct, it is the best beef money can buy. Who is the source of your nonsense?

You wont ever find me in Calgary, and I doubt I need any of your chump change. I likely make more in 1 day than your household makes in a week. Sorry about your luck, simpleton. Please stay in the sooty, choking hell called Toronto, where you belong. The sheep find safety in numbers.

Central Canada would succeed as it's own country. As would Ontario, as would BC as would the Maritimes as would the territories. None of us NEED each other, the theory is that we're supposed to WANT each other, and given the aversion most Canadians seem to have to federal power, I don't think we do.

Who in the world really cares if Canada is broken up? It is not a real country
with a real history anyway. Alberta wants to be part of the USA, Quebec wants to
be independent, the eastern provinces don't care as long as they get a handout,
rural ontarians think they are part of the UK. The indians and
innuits should have their own government anyway, they have their own
traditions. Large parts of the population is recent immigrants that don't care
one way or another, barely half of the population care to vote. The political
system is barely worthy of a banana republic.

just give it up. The americans will likely exchange our $$can at par, if we adopt
their currency.

The real problem facing Alberta is the plummeting price of oil. OIl sand wealth may be delayed for a number of years while the world economy shovels its way out of the mess the US precipitated. During that period, new sources of oil(ie Cuba and Brazil) may appear and world usage may drop because of Green concerns and better mileage cars. A liberal/NDP coalition would stoke anger in Alberta, for sure, but I bet they will want to be part of the stimulus.
Yep.

The price of oil is going to go to $12.00 a barrel again. Right where it was before 2000.

The party is over in Alberta. They think themselves so superior, however, the fact of the matter is that they are the equivalent of the georgraphical lucky sperm club.

Alberta has oil.

After that I think they raise cows.

I don't give a flying fuck what the rest of the world thinks, this is about what we want. And as far as adopting US currency, or joining the US I will never support that. I am not American and don't want to be I am Canadian, and if that collapses as I predict I will be an Ontarian. And if America conquers us I'll be either a freedom fighter or a refugee.

Yeah, he had to post that twice before anyone even bothered to call him on it.

I'm down in the states working on assignment right now as a matter of fact.

You can keep it. It's not looking good down here right now boys and girls. Not good at all.

Canada is truly the greatest country in the world.

You don't get it. I am serious. This country has no cohesion, hardly anybody considers
themselves canadian. People consider themselves foremost westeners, french quebecers, british, chinese or italiens.

The country is a hodgepot of regions with vastly different dreams and objectives,
most people hate someone from another region.

If the last few days have not shown everybody that Canada is a failed
experiment, I don't know what will.

So move back to Danemark and stop posting those stupid links in Danish that no-one can read anyway because no-one speaks Danish in the world other than Danes. You can feel happy back home. We don't want or need your ass here.

You have no business of telling me what to do. Take it up with the mods, if
you don't like the postings I do.
