Will spas enforce the vaccine passport?

According to management at Flirt, they do not fall under any category that requires the passport. Therefore, unfortunately, they will not be obligated to enforce it.
Which is absolutely stupid, if true. Way to go, Dougie, you’re doing a helluva job.

The rules specifically mention several types of adult businesses and sex clubs. If that’s what they think, it’s just a matter of time before they end up with a hefty fine
From what I remember hearing in the news, vaccine passports are to be mandatory at strip clubs, bathhouses and sex clubs, so technically massage parlours and holistic centres do not fall under any of these categories. I can only imagine that they will be subsequently added along with other businesses if vaccination rates don't reach 90% soon enough lol
By the way, the city of Toronto refers to massage parlours as Body-Rub Parlours and strip clubs are referred to as Adult Entertainment Clubs.

Even if we reached 100% vaccine rates the government would move the goal posts and put other roadblocks in place. We already reached targets they set out previously as they dangled those like a carrot in front of us to "return to normal" never happened. The vaccine passports are only cause more loss for businesses while government threaten them with lockdowns event tough the government measures have not worked because so many factories etc. like Amazon and others flout the rules. Customers have to show the passports but the employees don't have to show theirs. If vaccines work so well then why worry about those unvaccinated and if the vaccines don't protect so well then why would the unvaccinated want them? So much hypocrisy as they make up the rules yet those rules don't change things and then they shift the numbers. It is a feel good move as they know businesses may ask but are not going to go hardline if a customer is bringing in high revenue. I doubt the MPs will be asking but I suspect more public health inspections and the inspectors may ask. Remember the government is all about revenue collection so expect them to start issuing fines since they are in need of money. Remember when the Government worked for us …ya long ago that's what we thought but we soon learned that is not the case.
The targets the previously set were for the phased reopening which we did, and we haven't been in lockdown since.
Customers have to show passports for non-essential services. Employees don't have to show theirs because the government knows people have bills to pay and children to feed. Aside from federal workers, the government isn't going to tell any other employees to get vaccinated. It's not their place. If their individual employers do, then that's a different story.
Vaccines work extremely well at preventing severe illness and hospitalization, as well as reducing transmission. Transmission is even further reduced among fully vaccinated individuals, hence the vaccine passports.
I completely agree, the government is all about revenue collection. What's their major source of revenue? Taxes, that's right! It makes no sense to hurt small businesses by perpetuating lockdowns, because the more money a business earns, the more taxes they pay to the government. Seeing as 80% of Ontarians 12+ are fully vaccinated, businesses would rather serve that 80% than go into another lockdown.
Most likely speculation. Spas have fallen under personal care services the entire pandemic and unless that has changed, they're currently exempt from vaccine passports.
If they ask to see my proof I would like to see their proof of vaccine.
Ergo that is the issue for many as it is the hypocrisy that raises questions along with what the business does with that medical data. In reality many will just not go and that is what business knows.
Lockdown did not reduce numbers due to the hypocrisy of the lockdown due to allowing practices to still occur in business allowed open Amazon etc. The vaccine have issues and if the government were open about them instead of pushing them as being the way as a saviour then people would be more accepting. Manipulation and hypocrisy has been the order of government. I agree vaccination is worthwhile yet lockdown threats with unequal treatment of business is not worthwhile.
As I noted I suspect enforcement will come in the form of health inspectors. Also some are licensed as body rub so those will not come under the same classification as holistic massage.
Your expecting classification to be the deciding factor on rules but business themselves have not had clarification from government.
Spas were included in lockdown yet RMT remained open so a clear directive is not in place. Many businesses are lacking a clear clarification.
That becomes the issue as some customers may want to see enforcement thus it becomes client driven.
This is the irony for all the businesses We have to be vaccinated but the staff do not. Makes perfect sense. And you can ask for their proof but you're going into their business > So they can pretty much tell you to fuck off.
Also, A) it's not currently mandated to have the vaccine in order to obtain a body rub license and
B) spa attendants/ MPA are not employees as we do not receive pay or compensation from the spa businesses. Technically MPA are self employed independent contractors, and therefore not subject to covid rules affecting "employees".
An RMT is essential, for people with real back or mobility issues. A holistic bodyrub is "not" (but damn shouldn't it be?) Lol
Step One: 60% of adults vaccinated with one dose
Step Two: 70% of adults vaccinated with one dose and 20% vaccinated with two doses
Step Three: 70 to 80% of adults vaccinated with one dose and 25% vaccinated with two doses
...
We're now at 80% of adults vaccinated with two doses and yet must deal with a new condition: vaccination passports.
