Hello,

I need some help here regarding my wireless connection. I had a problem last night where my wireless connection kept losing its connection. Right now everything is fine, but I was wondering if anyone knew what is wrong for future reference if it were to happen again. The main computer did not have any problems with its connection. And just a few hours prior to this problem, I had not problems either. But later that night, everytime I get connected I would lose my connection. I would restart my computer and get connected, only to be disconnected. When I put my cursor over the icon of the two computers, and click status that window would open for a fraction of a section but then disappear. I would appreciate any help.

I did do a virus scan and all I found was something called adware.GAIN, but I have found this before any never had this problem before. BTW I can't get rid of this file, my deletions are always a failed result (I use Norton). I also visit reputable websites.

Thank you in advance

Could be caused by someone using a microwave or a cordeless phone. Try using a different channel for your wireless network.

Nope, no one using either when I was on. Right now I am still having the same problem but not as frequent. We have another computer with the adaptor, so I am going to try to see if its a problem with my adaptor.

But when I do have the problem, sometimes the power on the adaptor is not on. I tries plugging my MP3 player with my adaptor, so its not a problem with the USB i think

Did the TECHNO-Chick go to bed early?

This happened in my house one night last week. We had company, but a storm ws coming in and all my old war wounds were talking to me. So I hit the sack early, leaving the boys downstairs alone.

I came down the next morning to find techno-snafus all over the place. The guest's laptop was connected via cable to the router (and apparently still not working?). The TV was set on Video-on-Demand. Yeeps! I'm told the shit hit the fan as soon as I hit the stairs.

(They should have just come and got me.)

..c..

Problem solved.

Thanks for the resonse mouse.

Problem was hardware (adaptor) was a problem and interference from neighbour's network. Just glad not a virus, causing my computer not to recognize my adaptor. Getting paranoid that Bell was get aggressive about wireless networks.
