Most Asians, but not all Asians.

The worst are soccer moms with their SUV's. It takes them 15 minutes to park their huge SUV's in the mall parking lot.

Depends on your definition of bad driving.
Slow and and crap at parking, or
Agressive, selfish, rude, fast and dangerous.

Non-asians seem to be obsessed with the first type, and more likely to be the second type.

I guess you're one of those who drives North American.....have you ever driven a Japanese car? Most who drive Japanese after driving domestic, never go back.:p
I buy what I want...not what Union people tell me to buy!(And yes I've been a union member.)
I have, and it let me down big time. Ford, surprisingly or not, has given me great service over the 11 years that I have owned them. So, I stick faithfully to that nameplate, although I do acknowledge that there are better and worse cars out there.

Many times, it is just luck of the draw. Like my good friend whose timing belt went prematurely on his Civic, which required a new engine, compared to all the fords and GMs he has owned that never needed an engine replacement.

Anyway, I am not pointing out the cars, but the drivers who drive them. One of these road warriers nearly took my driver fender off, because he just had to pass through a very tight space. What is it with these wannabe Formula 1 drivers?

Ok let's not get offensive here. Joking aside. Put it this way, bad drivers come in all different races and ages. You'll get your typical bad asian drivers, along with your bad brown cab driver, plus the soccer moms with their SUV's, plus the rednecks in their pickups, not to mention the old geezers in the Cadillacs. Fact of the matter is, bad drivers are everywhere. To label all Asians as being bad drivers is offenseive. To label any whole class of people is offensive. Like white guys can't dance, or black guys can only play ball. There are exceptions everywhere.

Thanks PHNINE, I was about to tear a strip off these racist fucks.

The fact really is that bad drivers are everywhere and everyone is a bad driver. Sure, you think you're a great driver, but as many times as you said "fucking asshole" to someone else, that many times someone gave you the 1 finger salute.

Yes there are speed demons, myself being one of them. However, if you're not aggressive, you just sit idle and with the price of gas, I'd rather put the fuel to use by moving rather than sitting. This is in the GTA of course.

While in my own community I drive speed limit and very lax because the traffic is almost non-existant and you can go anywhere in the township within 5-10 minutes. In my small rural community, 95% are caucasions. There is an accident on the main intersection at least once or twice a month. Not to mention that the drivers whip through going 100 in a 50 zone.
Do I label all these "crazy white devils with lead feet"? No. I simply chalk it up to individual stupidity and horrendous driving skills on the part of the driver.

Those of you who chose to target the Asian populace as bad drivers are nothing but a bunch of racists. Don't think so? Re-evaluate your thinking, you racist bastard(s).

Well put Ruck.

I guess the most general stereotype that I don't mind making is that old people aren't good drivers, regardless of the color of their skin. If your old, you shouldn't be driving. As for everyone else, there are bad drivers everywhere. Everyone is guilty of being a bad driver at one time or another. I am a pretty good driver, but I would lying if I said I never cut anyone off, or didn't signal before changing lanes, or running a red. We are all guilty, and to deny it is just stupid.

I guess old meaning you can't see there heads from the back of the car, let alone not being able to see over the driving wheel. They drive below speed limit, and signal way ahead of time. LOL

That's short and cautious, not old. I could also say Asian but wouldn't! LOL

Yeah...but...regarding the Asian thing...

...obviously it is a gross generalization...I am sure MOST Asian drivers are as good (or as bad) as most of us.

Having said that, I once had a friend who has lived and worked all over the world point out something to me...

Nowhere else in the world...nowhere...are cars are pervasive and as much a part of day-to-day life (and culture) as in the United States (and to a very similar degree I am sure, Canada).

The vast majority (not all...just the vast majority) of people who immigrate to one of these two countries before has never driven a car until they arrived here. Cars are an EXTREME luxury in many countries, and relatively rare even amongst working class families for the other G8 nations.

So...while "you" have been driving since you were legally old enough (and probably even before that), nagging Dad until he finally handed you the keys and closed his eyes, that nice 40-something lady in the lane next to just stated driving last year...

If you think about it, most of the "stuff" being alluded to here in regards to Asian drivers isn't at all unique to Asians...its just that when you see it you expect to see someone about 16 years old behind the wheel (whatever their race). When you instead see this 30 something man, well dressed and otherwise appearing to be competent, your brain just goes "WTF??" And hence the impression is made.

Now...like I said...I didn't come up with this, but it certainly made sense to me...most stereotypes have SOME portion of truth...the trick is to not let them shape your opinions or interactions with other on a UNIVERSAL basis....

People who start texting on their cell phone on the 401. Ooooops that would be me.

...twice this week I have seen people doing this. My brain just goes "TILT"!!

How in the world can a person possibly justify this??

You know - I try to not think evil thoughts, but such people really do deserve to hit a tree - hard. Then hopefully they will learn a lesson before they hit someone else.

This whole asian drivers thing has been discussed before. My question is how goood of a driver are you guys if you're busy paying attention to the ethnicity of the drivers, who's using cell phones etc? :)

I'm a pretty boring driver I tend to pick one lane stay in it, stay out of others blindspots, drive with the flow of the traffic (in terms of speed) and give myself room between me and the person in front. Funny enough I don't notice many bad drivers. So maybe it has to do with situations that you put yourself in.

Or who knows maybe I'm the bad driver out there. LOL.
