MAIN CARD (PPV)

* Champ Georges St-Pierre vs. Jake Shields (for welterweight title)
* Champ Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick (for featherweight title)
* Jason Brilz vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
* Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida
* Mark Bocek vs. Ben Henderson

PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV)

* Nate Diaz vs. Rory MacDonald
* Jake Ellenberger vs. Sean Pierson

Predictions for the festivities:

Georges St-Pierre vs. Jake Shields.......Can't see Shields getting this one to the ground where is his only chance to win. GSP wrestling is to strong and he is to smart. GSP will keep this one standing where he is far superior. GSP by 5 round domination.

Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick.............Hominick is good standing but Aldo is a beast with the better all around skill set. Aldo by 2nd round ground and pound.

Jason Brilz vs. Vladimir Matyushenko... Brilz via UD.

Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida.....I can't see Randy getting a hold of Machida. And unless he can he is in for a long night. Machida by UD.

Mark Bocek vs. Ben Henderson.....They are both about the same on the feet but Bocek has the longer reach. MMA wrestling is also close but where Bocek has the distinct advantage is his jits. I expect Mark will sub him in the 3rd.

I would say it's going to happen every year.
Hopefully they move them to the ACC from now on.
Rogers Centre is tooooooooo big.
129 is a simple cash grab.

GSP will win, ............I hope. lol

I read that Shields barely grappled with Kampann in his (Shields') last fight and Kampann is a STRIKER, wth? lol

GSP has the speed, agility, strength, smart and most importantly, the patience in all his fights.
He picked off Koscheck with a jab all 5 rounds and broke his orbital bone.
He has a game every fight and he's good at sticking to it.

It's going to be a real nerve racking fight to watch, but I'm gonna order it at home and chill.

So, we'll see how things go and hopefully GSP beats his ass, I can't stand any of Shields' training partnders, in particular the Diaz brothers, so I hope this potential loss hurts them too. :)

Georges St-Pierre vs. Jake Shields ~ GSP by unanimous
Jose Aldo vs. Mark Hominick ~ Aldo by TKO
Jason Brilz vs. Vladimir Matyushenko ~ Matyushenko by submission
Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida ~ Dragon by unanimous
Mark Bocek vs. Ben Henderson ~ Bocek by KO

It's going to be a real nerve racking fight to watch
Not really.
As usual GSP will expose his opponents weaknesses and then amplify them.
He'll find the holes in Shields game and rip them wide open.
GSP wins his fights before he even gets in the ring with superior gameplans.

GSP couldn't finish off Koschek or Hardy

Shields will have to deal with all the GSP nut huggers, but he'll still submit the arrogant frenchman.
GSP took down a two time NCAA wrestling champion with a left jab for 5 rounds and you're main concern is about "finishing" people off?
He almost SNAPPED Hardy's arm and I think he actually held back and DIDN'T break his arm.

GSP's work ethic, mental toughness and focus is what sets him apart from everyone else.

Shields dealing with nut huggers is part of the game, you don't think GSP had to deal with crowds who were against him in any of his previous 9 title defense fights?
As for arrogance, wrong choice of word, confidence. When you've beaten people who are great at their skill set, BJ - grappling, Koshcheck - wrestling, Hughes - wrestling, etc, etc and NEVER had a wrestling career previous to your UFC career and now there's Olympic talk possibly, there's a very good reason to be confident.

But again, Shields barely grappled with Kampmann in his last fight and Kampmann is a STRIKER. lol

So when does this thing take place ?
I know it is coming soon, but since I am not a fan ...
I try every now and then, but I always seem to catch the boring fight that just turns out to be a wrestling match.

Ironhead, you really don't know? lol
It's Saturday dude, hit a bar and enjoy the frenzy. I'm ordering it on TV which is rare for me, but got a few people coming over to watch it and they're bringing the food and drinks.
It should be good, I'm only paying to watch GSP fight, the other ones ehhh..... lol

Guy, you're probably right about the UFC dominating the Royal Wedding.
This fight is absolutely huge for GSP and Canada in the MMA world. I'd venture to say he's Canada's modern day sports equivalent of Gretzky of the 80s.

Class act, humble, incredible at what he does.

Josh Koscheck was at the gym last night rollin with us. Seems like a alright guy, he helped me with a few position issues that I've been having. If you guys are interested in seeing Spider, BJ Penn, Kos and other UFC fighters come down to the UFC Fan Expo Grapplers Quest Fri and Sat. I think its like $40.

Couture and St.Pierre will win this saturday!
I think Randy will lose by KO. The Dragon can't lose another one, he's too good not to be in the mix for a belt again.
My fav fighter in the world Aldo is fighting against the Canadian Hominick. For my prediction for this fight I will quote my hero Mr. T in Rocky3 "Paaaaain"

do you think Randy would pick a fighter he couldn't beat for his last fight ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqA9r9h9_JU
I hear ya, it sounds like a trap game but I jus dont think the Dragon could lose another one cus he's much better then his last few showings indicate...or i'm jus in denial. Im not a Dragon fan but I do feel for the guy. That Rampage fight cudda gone the other way easily and now he faces a trap match wit Randy.

I give Randy allot of props tho cus he wants to challenge himself and fight crafty opponents like Lyoto
