In what way?
The idea was underwater in August, less than 3 months ago.

" By nearly a two-to-one margin, voters prefer keeping an independent line-drawing panel to determine the state’s House seats, the latest POLITICO-Citrin Center-Possibility Lab survey found. Just 36 percent of respondents back returning congressional redistricting authority to state lawmakers. "

That link goes to the actual poll.
It wasn't remotely a foregone conclusion back when the California Dems were trying to bluff Texas into not going ahead with their plan.
C'mon Val, you're too smart.

The big Republican money didn't come in a major way to try to stop it. They knew a Ruby Red state would go for the redistricting proposition.
California Democrats once they were told the political stakes changed whatever reservations they had very quickly.

Speaking of smart money, here is Polymarkets probability odds.

Dude the board of Tesla just approved a one trillion payment to Musk.

In this absurd world i chose AOC any day.
The owners/shareholders had their say.
They have decided that one person was a critical piece to the company.

I didn't look at how the pay package was structured. How much was guaranteed vs. performance. Basically, because I presume shareholders vote in their best economic interest.

Tesla only made $7 billion in 2024. Likely way less after the cybertruck failure.
That's 150 years worth of profit.

I read his posts as 'sure, Israel is committing genocide but I'll genocide you too if you keep bugging me'.
You think it was something else?
Haven't read all his posts whole thread. That bit we're discussing seemed to be about "leftists" tied with some garden-variety white supremacy.

So it was a forgone conclusion after three months of campaigning to convince people when they were two to one against it to start?
But that doesn't count as a big win because anything the Democrats actually try to change people's mind on automatically happens?
I never knew you thought so highly of the Democratic propaganda machine,

Speaking of smart money, here is Polymarkets probability odds.

Interesting, they didn't even start betting on it until the Democrats changed the tactic to be a temporary move.

Hmm.....I'm not so sure. I think both parties made mistakes and drama.

Anytime you put pressure on Trump, he is going do and say stupid things. I don't think the Democrats challenge made a lot of sense procedurally. This given the timeline of events going back to when the ACA tax credits were passed with a sunlight clause.

We all probably make too much of what this will mean at the ballot box especially a year out. Americans are use to these budget fights and shutdowns. Although, I have been told by progs here they are not normal and it is all Trump's fault.

IMHO, the Dems didn't lose anything. Ignoring the temporary pain and chaos of the shutdown, they fought to a solid draw. They rallied the base which we tend to underestimate. They also gave themselves a very good tentpole issue heading into 2026 midterms. At it stands, healthcare affordability is a bad issue for Republicans. Of course, throwing money at a problem is not a great solution. However, ignoring the problem is not an answer either.

Now we can get back to the normal state of business.

The democrats got exposed that there is tension among their moderate and the far left base...it just shows youthey are no better than the republican rhinos...look at ny for instance... the tax the rich and hochul seems to have a different take since she vows not to add taxes...looks like it's a lie and the voters got honey dicked.

It's likely going to cost Schumer his seat in the primary.

And the ones who will pay the price are the American people.

A mass exodus from NYC by billionaires is underway, Trump will part the Red Sea to make their escape.
It is the financial capital of the world.
No one is fleeing anytime soon.
This is just the right wing "the sky is falling because of the Muslim mayor" fear mongering tactic.
