The big Republican money didn't come in a major way to try to stop it. They knew a Ruby Red state would go for the redistricting proposition.
California Democrats once they were told the political stakes changed whatever reservations they had very quickly.

The owners/shareholders had their say.
They have decided that one person was a critical piece to the company.

I didn't look at how the pay package was structured. How much was guaranteed vs. performance. Basically, because I presume shareholders vote in their best economic interest.

So it was a forgone conclusion after three months of campaigning to convince people when they were two to one against it to start?
But that doesn't count as a big win because anything the Democrats actually try to change people's mind on automatically happens?

Hmm.....I'm not so sure. I think both parties made mistakes and drama.

Anytime you put pressure on Trump, he is going do and say stupid things. I don't think the Democrats challenge made a lot of sense procedurally. This given the timeline of events going back to when the ACA tax credits were passed with a sunlight clause.

We all probably make too much of what this will mean at the ballot box especially a year out. Americans are use to these budget fights and shutdowns. Although, I have been told by progs here they are not normal and it is all Trump's fault.

IMHO, the Dems didn't lose anything. Ignoring the temporary pain and chaos of the shutdown, they fought to a solid draw. They rallied the base which we tend to underestimate. They also gave themselves a very good tentpole issue heading into 2026 midterms. At it stands, healthcare affordability is a bad issue for Republicans. Of course, throwing money at a problem is not a great solution. However, ignoring the problem is not an answer either.

The democrats got exposed that there is tension among their moderate and the far left base...it just shows youthey are no better than the republican rhinos...look at ny for instance... the tax the rich and hochul seems to have a different take since she vows not to add taxes...looks like it's a lie and the voters got honey dicked.
