Chicago is near Wisconsin, Wisconsin is full of cows, Cows produce milk. Cheese is made of milk. In Wisconsin you can buy a 20 lb block of cheese for $18. In Canada, because of the dairy marketing boards, that same block of cheese will cost you $75. The pizzarias in the GTA can not afford give you a deep dish pizza with the ingreidients encased in melted cheese.
This is an interesting comment. Makes sense I guess.

I was in Dallas last year and i went to a place called BJ's, yup great waitresses as well. They specialize in deep dish pizza's and they also have a microbrewery and they recommend a beer for each specialty pizza that you order. it was simply great pizza and the beer was good as well.

Mothers was around a long time prior to 1980. I'd say early 70's. Growing up in the Hammer, it was a big treat to go to Mothers on a Monday night when we were kids. (Monday they had some 2 for 1 deal and a jug of pop or something like that.) You used to have to wait to get in the place. I believe their first store was in Westdale in Hamilton down by Mac. I grew up on the mountain and remember going to their store on Upper James while still in primary school and that was early to mid 70's. They used to show these old silent movies on the screen I remember. I think they lost sight of what made them good. Too small to be big and then too big to be small.
