Apparently, some folk see a tattoo as a form of scarring. So, would they have the same prejudice toward someone who has an actual scar or birthmark, or is it more of a psychological judgement placed on the individual due the association they've learned.
The difference is that physical scars are usually caused my accidents or mishaps and tattoos are elective.

This is the equivolent of saying that people who don't like breast implants don't like heart transplants....

Anyhow, RG, glad you and your daughter settled the whole situation.

For those who are of the opinon that "now she won't ever come to you with anything again"...what was he/we supposed to do? Lie to her and say hey, that's great baby???? so, what do you think would happen if she found out he really didn't like it and he lied to her face? There goes trust right out the window.....I'd rather have my kid know that if they do something I feel is good, they get praise, if they do something I find distasteful? they will get a talking to....and most of all, they will know that I am always honest with them.

I can see it now: Little billy comes tearing up the drive...

Hey sport, what's the hurry?

Oh dad, I have to hide, I stabbed bobby in the park after school and the cops are after me...

WAY TO GO SPORT GREAT JOB!! ATTABOY!!!

Thanks for answering my question from your point of view, tboy. So, if I understand you right; for you, at least in part, it's the fact that it is chosen and the implication associated to that choice.

This is the equivolent of saying that people who don't like breast implants don't like heart transplants....
Interesting analogy with the implants, because yeah, some people do focus on implants as "mutilating" what they believe to have been, or is, otherwise physically appealing. We've elevated the "scale" and changed the elements here though.

Sticking to esthetics, maybe a more suitable comparison to implants, would be obviously physically unappealing natural breasts. I think we're leaning toward a more easily defined physical realm, although I don't doubt there will be those who attach some assessment to girls who get implants, regardless of whether they know their reasoning for getting them ( sagging/ stretch marks due to weight loss/ childbirth ) Again, we would have a judgment based on one aspect without taking the whole picture into account, although on a different plane. Sorry, I went off track a bit with that one, but I suck with analogies lol

nothing stupid about it. Maybe she got the tattoo because she could care a less about your opinion. did it hurt to hear it or something? and you don't have to worry about what I do best buddy, you should be more concerned about posting relative topics rather then about stupid & hypocritical topics on an escort board.

relative to what ? This is the lounge - anything goes, as long as it doesn't go against TERB rules.

You can cheer your friend on all you like, but I do believe what he is trying to imply, if you read his following post, would actually be a double standard - not hypocrisy.

Most people are going to exercise some degree of double standards when it comes to those close to them. Particularly their own offspring.

Concern for one's daughter is anything but stupid.

This is the lounge section, anything can be discussed here, including sexual or even other topics that have absolutely nothing to do with sex. Other forums cover sexual topics. There is also a Technology forum, a movie review forum, etc..., that have absolutely nothing to do with sex. Give the guy a break, you're making an issue out of nothing IMO.

Thanks pool for the backing, doingwhatIDON"Tdobest has his opinion but must realilize that the Lounge is for subjects of discussion about anything, as for my feelings being hurt by him, well, he has made me laugh anyways with his "relative topics on a escort board" I must look to see if his other 90 posts are any better. he has no daughters or sons so his understanding of parenting is very very limited. BTW my daughter has told me she understands my concerns and loves me very much.

Dont say this !!!!!!!! unless you want her to despise you !

A tattoo does not mean your a tramp or anything else

its a beautiful permanent form of art .......!

Art hangs in the museum or your walls tattos fade and look shitty when you get old . I don't see anything artistic about barbed wire around your arm I see it more and a sign of a weak mind who has to join the thousands of others who have the same thing.

Ok I was a bit harsh sometimes I do get that way , I actually did think about getting a tatto at some point in my life. You can roll your eyes as much as you want but I don't think I have yet to meet a girl with barb wire tattos aka Pam A who has much of an i.q. Now if you can convince me that people who have real intelligence also find it necessary to have tattos I might change m mind.

Sorry buddy but I have a lot of things important to me but I don't have to scar my body to remind me. Sorry about the weak mind comment but I am not impressed with the level of intelligence of people who have tattos

you know I never realized my comment reguarding my daughter getting a tattoo would bring so many comments and opinions, it is now becoming a lengthy topic, all I really wanted to say was that I don't like MY DAUGHTER getting tattoos anymore than I want her walking around with a bulls ring in her nose, it was never meant to have anything to do with her intelligence, her loving me or not, or any other thing, well the job thing does come into play, same as the men she will meet and I don't want to hear how if the man doen't like tattoo thats his problem because it will not be his problem but her's when he says sorry not into that. All I ever wanted is the best for my daughter and making life as easy as possible, Yes I do see MPA'S and SP's but that doen't mean I want her to do that either. Yes she can have it removed later but that leaves a different kind of scar, exactly what a tattoo is, a body scar, not a piece of art. yes we all do things we regret later in life but that is what I am for, to try to warn her of things that might be, I am glad for one thing and that is that her and I love each other, something I will do till the day I die. I still do not like girls with tattoo's and have turned down second dates after meeting someone with them, I am sorry and apologize to you lady's who have them, I think no less of someone with them it is just not for me.

I understand societies views on Tattoos and that is why all of mine are not visible if I have a shirt and pants on. There is no connection between intelligence and body art.

Tattoos are something you either like or don't like. I can understand rgkv not wanting his daughter to have any. But once it is done it is done.

Thanks for the insult....much appreciated. :)

PS...Just wondering, with my lack of intelligence, do people with "real intelligence" such as yourself proofread their writing before they post?

Sorry I don't mean to insult you , and no I don't have time to proof read.

This board is comedy central sometimes.

What does intelligence have to do with tattoos? I know some well-educated GENTLEMEN with some mighty big tattoos who run some mighty big corporations. (I put "gentleman" in caps because some people also assume that a man with tattoos cannot possibly be a gentleman, or a woman with tattoos cannot possibly be a lady.) Since when does a tattoo make a person? Only a judgmental person would think that.

Personally, I do not like tattoos all over my body, however, I would not judge someone because of his/her preference. I understand in the business world, tattoos do make a statement, but let that person deal with the consequences, if any, as most tattoos can be hidden under the right attire.
Well I don't know any well educated men who run mighty big corporations , when you say mighty big that must mean major corporations. I doubt this very much. Yes I admit I am judgemental maybe sometime too much. I still think that most people who are intelligent don't find iot necessary to tattoo their bodies and I won't even say what I think of people who cover their bodies in tattos . like I said I have thought about getting a tattoo in the past but it would have been an irrational act that would have served no purpose. Maybe not every person who has a tattoo is not intelligent but in general the people who have tattos I think fall into the lower social strata .
