moeman, that's all fine and dandy, you may still be in decent physical shape, but your diet may not be what many others would like. Are you kidding me?
When I wrestled in High school + university I could easily and without to much work lose 30 pounds a month and be ready to rock in a tournament.
It's damn possible since a guy who is 50+ pounds overweight in not in a natural state.
Clean up your diet ASAP. If you have the will power eat only green veggies (lots and lots- more than you can stomach), lean proteins (not too lean as you need sat/ fats to boost test levels) and a good heaping of the good fats.
Make your diet 50% protein and eat a lot of veggies. As soon as the weight is off reduce to 40% protein, add fruits+ veggies and good fats.
Not only you'll lose the weight you'll feel like a million bucks. Of course exercise is a must.
I'm in shape now but if you asked me to lose 20 ponds in a month I could do it eyes closed.
Mu number one recommendation, and you won't believe how this will help your body- a lot of green veggies- spinach, broccoli, celery etc. That will change your life around. Oh and the wrestlers secret Avacadoes.
Don't listen to anyone who says "can't". With will power and hard work you can do as you please.
This is the worst advice i have seen yet,really?600 calories a day,are you trying to starve him to death? He would need at least 2 or 3 times as many calories and still would be in a deficit I am sure. Then you tell him to eat no carbs, well in order to eat no carbs you need to eat something for energy source so you need fat, but, then you say don't eat fat either,so,what is his body supposed to use for energy? That's right the only choice left and least efficient energy source, protein.Which then leaves you with no protein to build or repair or even maintain your bodys muscle mass.Follow this advice by all means if you want to become tired, somewhat skinnier and less muscular then you are now but I wouldn't advise it.Having a little bit of knowledge in this, you can do one of two things. Go to a pre paid plan. Dr Bernstein, Jenny Craig...etc. Second if you choose to do it yourself and you're serious (You still won't lose 50 pounds) Like others have said, strict diet. I would also take out fruit. Do not consume over 600 calories a day and join the gym and go twice a day. Cardio in the morning and weights and Cardio in the evening.
Eat 4 meals a day and nothing past 8pm. Diet is the thing, compared to exercise. It's a 75% to 25% ratio. No Sugar (even fruit) no Carbs, no fat.
What manner of ridiculous fad advice is this?! Expend energy building muscle and cardiovascular strength, and make good food choices?? Preposterous!
What works for me is to eat like a lemur. Crickets and beetles twice a day, and hop around sideways.
Come on. Name ONE person who became healthier by making good food choices and exercising. What a load of BS.No. Lost 40 lbs. four years ago doing just that.

Seriously, crickets and jumping.
When you're 20 and only been slacking for a month, it's damn easy. Unfortunately, for anyone over 30 and well away from good habits, it's a long slog. Are you kidding me?

By the way Dr.Bernsteins miracle injections are just vitamin B 12 which you can buy yourself over the counter at the pharmacy, these are based more on the power of the mind then anything else, and at most may give a slight energy boost. The best diet plan out there with tons of research to back it up,and safe and not a starvation diet is called carb back loading by kiefer,it's available as an e-book, but worth it.
Ahhhhh.. I am over 35 and still compete in Judo and BJJ tournaments. Depends where my team wants me to fight I can easily go from Heavy to light heavy within weeks. When you're 20 and only been slacking for a month, it's damn easy. Quickest way to lose 50 lbs is to cut off one leg. If that (or the cricket thing) isn't for you, the exercise and eating is the only effective way and it's not easy. Either that or move in with a hot sex crazed health nut and she'll work the pounds off for you. Of course that makes looking good on the beach less important.
Yep, this is pretty much it.Work out and eat healthy![]()

Don't go too crazy in cutting out carbs. Use a lot of low GI carbs like green veggies and low GI fruits (strawberry, pear, orange, apple etc.),. If you cut carbs too drastic it will screw up the system.this post inspired me. i'm gonna try to lose the same 50 lbs. before July 1st-can't see myself doing it by June. Weighed myself this morning... 263 lbs., 6'5" eliminated white carbs and ate 1200 calories today (almost all protein & fat). worked out & drank alot of water. i'm pissing alot this evening and will weigh myself when I get home.
