again. you have no idea what the Florida bill is about. all you're doing is parroting lefty garbage while trying to derail a thread.
You and Frank should each lay out what you think the Florida bill is about.
It might be funny.

If you guys care why this is happening watch this video below very carefully…she also mentions Elon and Jack. Surprisingly they are all involved with Twitter now.

This is so much more then it appears on the surface. However Twitter is only a small part of this, not necessary but helpful nevertheless.

If you don’t want to know or care just wait and you will see what this means.

Jack even supports open source. Do some reason your own what this means, what they want and maybe it will be worth to discuss with you. stop being so lazy and entitled.
Jack wanting it now that he doesn't have to run the company and justify share price is interesting.
People have been asking to have control over their own timelines for ages and Jack and Twitter have absolutely been against it - because it will cost them money and ad revenue and engagement.
The question is why is he for it now, and does Musk actually intend to do that?

I'm deeply skeptical, but actually breaking the algorithm or allowing people to tune their own would be good.
I just can't see it happening.

Also, a lot of what Musk does is primarily about PR.
"I bought Twitter" gives him a big boost, and "I did it because I believe in Free Speech" as well.
He already has a team of flying monkeys to swarm people who criticize him, so he doesn't need to police content there more.
Maybe he has a real plan to do something with it, but I would be surprised.
Musk is also a massive hypocrite. He cancelled a blogger's order because he wrote something Musk didn't like:

Or fired an employee for reviewing driverless tech on YouTube:

It's obvious he cannot take any criticism, and I'd bet he would be willing to censor those who say things he doesn't like. He doesn't want unions, and fought them pretty vigorously. Now, I know last month he invited the UAW to hold a vote, but we'll see what the company does behind the scenes...

He's not a hypocrite, he's a liar.
No one who actually watches what he does thinks he believes in "free speech" as some kind of principle.
He just thinks people who agree with him should be promoted and people who disagree with him should be silenced.
Since some people he agrees with on Twitter are getting pushback, Twitter isn't practicing good free speech (i.e. Pro-Musk) practice.

And, just like that, Musk is not joining Twitter's board:

Now, there are a number of possible reasons. If he joined, he would have been a fiduciary to the company, and would be limited to owning just under 15% of Twitter.

However, he now can buyout the company if he so desired. I mean, he's worth $250B. But would he? I seriously wonder what he would do if he did, because messing around with things could kill the golden goose....if you can call it that. It isn't exactly raking in the cash compared to other social media channels. But, compared to its competitors, it is the 800 pound gorilla.

There is also the background check he would have to submit to.

If he just stays outside the board he can still insult twitter as much as he wants, never have any responsibility or duty to behave, and still claim credit for anything he likes as the biggest investor.
It's a good deal and strategic use of PR is his superpower so the version where he makes as much noise as he wants but never has to do anything is his dream role.

He'd be sued by Twitter every time he attacked them - clear breach of director's fiduciary duty. Musk basically bit his own dick off and then choked on it, like a sad fuck.

Well, here we go. I hope he makes it, although Twitter is not worth half that.

The letter:

I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy.

However, since making my investment I now realize the company will neither thrive nor serve this societal imperative in its current form. Twitter needs to be transformed as a private company.

As a result, I am offering to buy 100 percent of Twitter for $54.20 per share in cash, a 54 percent premium over the day before I began investing in Twitter and a 38 percent premium over the day before my investment was publicly announced. My offer is my best and final offer and if it is not accepted, I would need to reconsider my position as a shareholder.

Twitter has extraordinary potential. I will unlock it.

I've heard other people make this claim, but seriously, he's a billionaire and world famous. I doubt any background check would turn up anything that we didn't already know. I mean, I'm 100% positive people have looked for skeletons in his closest already.

I think he just doesn't like people prying or in any way claiming he has to do anything they say.

Free speech and hate speech are not the same. Would you be OK with your neighbors spray painting "dirty kike" on your front door ? You Karen righties make me laugh. You sit back enjoying the protection of the Canadian government to complain about the protections of the Canadian government. You look at things like CRT as if they are hate speech because it threatens your own small minded beliefs.
