The GOP is censoring anything that they don't like or that makes them look bad. They are all about celebrating how Jackie Robinson broke the colour barrier....but they don't want to explain why he had to do that. They LOVE that one Martin Luther King quote, but ignore everything else he said about race relations — and really don't want that to be taught in school. The right loves to call liberals snowflakes, but they seem to be the ones who have a melt down if you question what they are doing...
Actually, both- fascism and communism were born in socialism. Fascism happens when socialism fails. Communism happens when socialism succeeds.
Twitter can be a cesspool at times with horrible hot takes and pure, unadulterated hate. It will be interesting to see what Musk will do with it. But, remember, if he decides to open it up to a free for all, there is a good chance many users walk away (well....maybe). I mean, it is apparent the right-wingers live to troll people on it. If they didn't, Parler or Truth would be much more popular. But, it is also interesting to think how this deal will affect Twitter's revenue. I mean, as a private company, it doesn't have to subject itself to the rigours of disclosure. Could they cook the books a bit on engagement, users, and ad views?
Will Musk authorize an "edit" button? How will that change the historic record? Will Trump be welcomed back on, or any of the other jackasses who were banned in recent years? What will the terms of service be?
I sort of suspect that Musk won't really change too much. I mean, he doesn't want to blow his money, no matter how much he has. I can also see him taking it public in a few years, say three to five.
