I believe my Canadian Iranian friends. Never, never trust a mullah.

Breaking news: Apparently, the Iranian protestors are being shot at.

100,000 Iranians marched to-day in Tehran shouting "freedom". There is a report that one freedom supporter has already been killed. Too bad ordinary Iranians don't the right to bear arms.

My Iranian friends tell me that Iranians found freedom in Canada, the U.S., the U.K., etc. and they want their relatives and friends in Iran to have freedom as well.
Maybe the US can engineer another coup d'etat and reinstate the son of the
Shah?

Seriously, I don't think the uS has much credibility in calling for freedom in Iran.

Growing?

"Demonstrators, some wearing the green of Mousavi's campaign colour, swarmed into central Tehran as riot police looked on. One policeman said between 1.5 million and two million people had turned out."

If protest on that scale is sustained—assuming the report is accurate—the government might fall. It doesn't matter if the protestors have no weapons. Revolutions often succeed when the army becomes unwilling to murder droves of innocent protestors. However, I still think that the Iranian government has a lot of support, enough to keep it in power, unlike the Shah, who alienated too many groups.

Regardless, the Obama administration should get some cahones, and strongly condemn the violence against the protestors.

Hail to our women and men who are facing the armed islamic thugs empty handed.
Unfortunately that won't last long. So far several arrests have been made of opposition Party leaders.

The only saving grace here is that the Supreme Leader has announced an investigation in voter fraud allegations. However I think this is a time saving position and it gives the State now the right to come down heavily on protesters.

This will just end up as another Tienanmen Square thing and not a Boris Yeltsin thing.

As long as the Supreme Leader has military support nothing will change.

The U.S. Government hasn't said a word about the election in Iran. In fact doing so would almost certainly be counterproductive.

My feeling is that all this protesting won't have much of a difference unless people can convince high ranking members of the military and/or police to depose of the current regime. A modern day coup d'etat if you will.

You are certainly right about that and the fact that the US has had no position on the results of the election.

Just one more example of Danmand talking out of is ass.

What kind of primitive talk is that!!!! Is your mind blindfolded !!!!!!!, or better yet do you have one???!!!
There are a lot of people who admire people who constantly criticize the US. Hence Ahmadinejad and Chavez are like heroes despite their own sins which can be even worse. They simply try and look the other way (or try to defend them). They also somehow try to turn every discussion into some US screw up.

Let's not be naive. My Iranian friends tell me that there are PAID agents of the mullahs operating in foreign countries. These people will call their own mothers a "F---g Bitch" for a few dollars.:(

President Carter lost Iran:( . Let's hope and pray that another Democrat, President Obama will win Iran back.

I just have to say this. Persian women are HOT and INTELLIGENT and EXTREMELY COURAGEOUS! Too bad they don't date outside their ethnic/cultural/religious group.

You know whats funny, Iran is in sanction and no one sells them airplanes and parts which is used by day to day people for their safety and they have to used 30+ years old Boeing 747 and used and old Russian Topolofs that they dont even used them in Russia anymore.

but apparently they sell them the best and latest crowd control equipment. if it's more painful it's a plus and no discount is needed.

This is sad.

No surprise here. My friends tell me that no civilize Iranian would attack another civilize Iranian so the mullahs bring in their Hamas hired guns to do their dirty work:( .

I said back during the Israel-Gaza war that my friends have a very low opinion of Palestinians. Now I know why.

Carter was weak and an idiot. He lost more than Iran during his 4 year defeated presidency. Obama must come out much more strongly in support of Iranian people or he will be another loser democrat.

Yes Persian women are all that, but I don't agree with the latter part of your second comment though. They do date outside their ethnic/cultural/religious group.

As an example, my own aunt is married to an Italian guy who was a christian. My other aunt is married to a German guy with no religion. If I had a sister I am sure she would have been married mixed as my both brothers have English (British) wives.

I have met more Persian nude dancers than any other foreign born nationality. Just last week I met a beautiful Persian princess who works as escort.

Contrary to common belief Iranians (or Persians) are very open minded and as westernized (or may be more) as any western citizen but unfortunately the news media concentrate on the apes and their supporters rather than the true people of Iran who represent the majority (and I am sure you know all these because you have been among the minority of North American with Iranian friends).

Meet some real Iranians for a change:

You don't have to convince me of how great iranians are...I work with a bunch of them. And their women are awesome. I wish the iranians the best of luck in their struggle to regain their freedoms.

I fear that those murderous mullahs:( will provoke some kind of international incident to "unite" the nation. Maybe provoke a shooting war with Israel. Maybe kidnap 20 British sailors.

These mullahs need a serious lesson in how to properly treat street demonstrators. Let's send them videos of the Tamil protests in Toronto. YOU DON'T SHOOT AND KILL HUMAN BEINGS!
