Please show us the actual numbers and where those numbers came from..

You do it

The odds of getting in via WC should be easy to figure out
How many serious competitors for WC spots ? How good
are we compared to them?

The odds of a WC winning the show is easily researched

The issue is when do you start counting WCs winning the
show as WC numbers have grown as owners get greedy
so I use odds based on todays WC selection of 3 WCs

now you multiple the fractions

IE the odds of getting heads twice in a row is 1 in 2 times
1 in 2 or 1 in 4. 3 times in a row is 1 in 8 etc

My method is imperfect and can be improved so do so
then we can argue

His numbers says otherwise.
Romano era, ba against him, strikeouts and evertything else is very good
but not with the elite

the only elite thing is his save numbers

he does not come with RISP as he closes the whole
9 th inning and if he does and they score they are not counted

our greatly improved outfield defense hustles hard
for those balls that get hammered

Thanks for admitting, as suspected, that you picked a number out of your ass and there were no actual calculations.

And THAT is the only number that's important. A closer's role is to get the save, seal the deal and that is what he consistently does. It's gotta be more than just luck that's going for him.

I love when people criticize, when there's nothing to criticize.

If you think that he shouldn't be the closer, what do you suggest that the Jays do? Hopefully you'll have specific names to put forward.

Philip gonna be a little upset with Romano tonight.....Quick wellness check.
lol omg Romano sucks. Tonight was a perfect example of how this guy hides behind his numbers, and manages to deceive us all, and look decent on paper. This is exactly what he does. He comes in a tie game, and he fucking gives up the lead, so no blown save opportunity…. And then he’ll string together his next three outings, and convert his next 3 saves by pitching a clean ninth with a 3 run lead, thus keeping his ERA down.

Complete deception for people that look at his stats.

This guy has mastered the art of hiding behind his numbers and being babied with his usage. And backyard bbq “kiss the cook” John Schneider high school coach, is helping him do it.

So there's no better options than Romero available for the Jays. ;)
You should come out of the bullpen for them. I bet you any money you would do better than Romano. Throw them the shack spitball sinker. Then avoid the umpire checking you after the inning.

Who should they replace him with? Not one person has come up with one credible name. Just a bunch of silly answers.

Lots of critics, but so far no solutions offered.
Pearson or Swanson. Swanson was lights out last night. With the off day on Thursday would’ve been nice to let him go two. Romano is not a tie game guy and I don’t know why Mr Minor League High School coach hasn’t figured that out.

Isn't Vlady amazin, nearly put that pitch in someone's beer. Am I correct in assuming that radio host Ben Wagner is subbing for Dan Shulman?

BoBochette was the first player to reach 100 hits in the Majors, he's currently two behind Luis Arraez who torched us in the 11-0 game.

Where have all the BoBo whiners gone?

Swanson has been very good and last night's tie may have been a good situation for him. As far as him being our regular closer in save situations, I checked his stats and he has 7 career saves in his 4 or 5 years in the bigs. It seems that he's mainly been a set-up man and has basically never been thrown into the role of closer. Would you feel comfortable with a guy with basically 0 history being thrust into that role? And then we lose our current Duane Ward setting up Henke.

And then what do you do with Romano? Make him the set-up guy? And if Swanson doesn't work out, how would Romano do if they wanted to put him back in knowing the team has lost its' confidence in him knowing that he's saved 22 out of 25 (I think that's what it is)?

I think Romano isn't going anywhere soon (or Swanson as the 8th inning guy) unless he has an extended bad streak.
