The Mooch says the same obvious thing... Putin has something on Trump that scares the life out of him...
I'm not convinced that's obvious.
Is it possible? Sure.
But I don't think you need to argue kompromat to explain Trump's affinity for Putin.

As to Trump's Israel/Palestine actions. Aside from him really not giving a shit about what happens to anybody that doesn't directly affect him or his interests, I am of the opinion that Trump is betrothen to the influence/blowback of the white, jewish lobby. And we all know how he feels about pigmented people.
Why would that lobby hold specific influence on him to the point he is beholden to them?
What evidence do you have for this?

Trump may admire, and aspire to being the strongman Putin is, but he knows he is being played. It seems only his wife's opinion matters when it comes to it being pointed out he is pussy whipped by Putin.
I don't think he knows he is being played.
Or rather, since he thinks everyone is playing everyone, he doesn't think the Putin situation isn't normal.
I think he usually thinks he is doing well with Putin and only sometimes can anyone get through to him how pathetic he looks.

Trump has demonstrated that he will not tolerate any sort of disrespect and will lash back without reservation at the merest suggestion by anyone he is being played. Look at how fast he turned on Kim Jung Il, another strongman he admires
I don't remember him really turning on Kim.
The summit didn't work out, they had another meeting.
He doesn't talk about his love affair any more, but I don't really recall him being anti-Kim now.

I could be wrong , of course.

Yet, he is so deferential to Putin directly farting in his face on the world stage

He has the world's strongest economy, military, diplomatic influence, his own Toot Social platform, and HAD the Xitter under his influence... and KNOWS what Russia is doing is illegal, immoral, brutal and everything. else... yet HE has used NONE of those powers in any more than a perfunctory theatrical manner.

Why not? 🤔
Because I don't think he thinks Putin is doing anything wrong.
Illegal, immoral, and brutal is just "Putin being strong".
And Putin seems to know how to talk to Trump directly in a way that makes Trump feel important.

Having said all that, I do sincerely believe that Trump does not like war and may genuinely, but naiively, think he is such a good dealmaker that he can somehow convince Putin to cease hostilities as a personal favour to his sycophant buddy Trump.
I've never seen anything that would make me believe Trump doesn't like war.
He doesn't like long, boring wars that don't look cool.
He thinks war should be like the movies and is annoyed when it isn't.
But he thinks war is bad ass when it is the kick ass guys kicking ass.

I think it is just the very little remnant of common
sense rather than a love of peace in Trump that is
guiding him to relieve the U.S. of the burden of funding
the proxy war

Trump does understand the U.S. can't simply cut and
run or the he can simply stop sending aid to Zelenskyy
and abandon Ukraine to Europe and the UK without
bothering to meet Putin. Obviously
Trump is doing what he can do to profit from the war
for the U.S. and his own personal glory. Hence the mineral
deal with Ukraine and his quest for the Nobel prize.
