Have a question for the group.
I have a medical condition and the only drug my Dr. and Cardiologist agree I should take for ED is Tadalafil - 10 mg
It works great but I get the worse acid reflux for days after taking
My dr. recommended tums as I can't take antacid with my other med but does anyone else have any recommendation or have the same problem?
Do you take nitroglycerin? Is one of your cardiac issues angina?
Is your cardiac issue directly heart related, vascular or pulmonary?
If heart disease, ischemic or non-ischemic?
Arrhythmic in nature or valvular?
Point I'm asking is because there are a bazillion combinations of medical conditions that involve a cardiologist.
And your restriction to tadalfil can be based on even more, plus other drug interactions.
I understand how frustrating it is dealing with complex, or even simple, cardiac issues. No matter how 'good' your Dr and cardiologist are, they never seem to have time to have a fulsome discussion and end up simply saying 'take this, but not that'. It's not their fault as tey have hundreds of others waiting in line to get seen. And it's only getting worse.
Having said all that, maybe ask about a proton pump inhibitor to take in advance of the reflux. It helps to lower stomach acid production, but you need to take it days iin advance to have any measurable difference AFAIK.
If you have a gut or visceral fat, that usually is a main contributor to reflux that the ED drug can tip you over the edge on. Losing even a few pounds can make the difference.
