Sometimes I start to feel bad for the guy and then I remember hearing and reading about how bad he physically and verbally abused fellow councillors,
his staff, the people around him and working people like taxi drivers him and it goes away.
Exactly.
The man comes from money and can't or hasn't ever had to hold a real job.
A probable rich wife beating racist, why feel sorry for him?

All I'm saying is at this point give him the 30 days (or however long he is gone) and then see what comes. If he is still an ass(good possibility) then fine.
If he thinks thirty days is enough time to deal with this, he is still a raging addict in denial, and just lying and putting on a show telling everybody what he thinks they want to hear so he can go back to his old ways. He thinks he will just be more careful about where he drinks.

I agree that Tory has good business knowledge. But he has no track record in public office such as being the Premier or Mayor.
In private business, he's been the boss and had the liberty ruling the board room.
So while I do like him in certain ways, he has little to zero success in public office.
Do you have ANY thoughts of your own on the issue? Or just rhetoric from the Rob Ford camp..

Rob Ford keeps blathering about his record, well his record ACTUALLY FUCKING INCLUDES getting wasted and missing meetings.. Getting wasted and embarrassing himself (and arguably Torontonians) on an international level. Taking his paid employees to help him to coach football games. Paying his ex football coach a shit ton of fucking money for no good fucking reason.. Talking shit about (and alienating) Toronto's vibrant LGBT culture.. Insulting (and Alienating) every other single councilor, MPP, MP that has ever disagreed with any of his moronic policies (thereby guaranteeing that he will NEVER be able to get ANYTHING done)

John Tory's limited success in public office doesn't make him a liability. It's his edge. What has he got to lose? Another election? Big fucking deal. The man has some solid ideas for Toronto (albeit along with some shitty ones...). He's also the only candidate that I trust can actually help mend the divide in Toronto between the Suburbs and Downtown core.

Anyone willing to give odds there will be a Ford on the ballot for Mayor, just not the one currently listed?
Who, the only Ford kid without an actual police record for drugs?

Even if Flip-floppin' Doug who "…never seen my brother drink," were to run, Rob would have to formally withdraw his name before the ballots went to the printer for that to happen.

what a great man that Robbie!.. Calls Gene Jones a n*gger twice, beats up Sandro Lisi and says Lisi is "the mob"...

so we got a racist , thug and he's best buds with the "mobbed up" guy...
So he's sticking up for Gene Jones and at the same time calling him a n*igger. Wow, that's messed up. Does he somehow justifies it by thinking he's a black guy trapped in a white body? You just can't use that word, ever. He shouldn't even be allowed to run for Mayor, period!

His lawyer seems to be scrambling and dumbfounded most of the time he's asked for a comment.
I can still remember him saying that RoFo was a man of integrity a while back. I'm still chuckling to myself over that one.
Beating up Lisi is a bad thing?
Considering he's probably billing Robbie $300 an hour, what else did you think he was going to say? lol

LMAO!

I seriously doubt that. If he didn't have the gumption to backhand Justin Bieber for disrespecting him ( he would have been re-elected with a landslide), how's he going to beat up a hardened criminal like Lisi?

And don't call him Robbie, that's disrespectful to Alomar. This is how its done:

Bash him all you want, but let's keep things in context here. He is a very fiscally responsible mayor regardless of his bad habits in his personal life.
...and that's exactly the enabling attitude of the irresponsible supporter that will continue to run this beautiful city into the ground until it no longer becomes a place to invest in.

What Ford supporters don't seem to understand in their myopic view, is that this is not about them. It is about the municipality as whole, the economic and cultural engine that runs the country, now and for generations to come.

They see themselves in a schmoe like Ford. He's perfected the: "They may be perfect but I'm not perfect" idiom that all the schmoes like him want to hear and nod their heads in agreement with. A calculated phrase perfectly aimed at a Pavlovian response. A simpleton wants to be able to screw up at life and work and be forgiven for it perpetually because they don't have the capacity to attempt being a stronger, better person with a clear scope of thought.

Woe to Rob Ford and his pathetic frailties that are now not just his problems but have become a problem for an entire city. A large and active one at that as opposed to some backwater birdhole no one knows about. I support his need for rehab and healthy recuperation. He is a human being that needs help and I wish a proper physical renaissance for him. He is a father. His mindset, however, is clearly beyond salvaging.

I'll be dammed however, if I'm going to stand by and watch him drag down my beautiful city with him and his lies, hypocrisy, homophobia, misogyny and blatant irresponsibility to the Office of the Mayor and the citizens of this city. He simply is a disgrace as a Mayor.

Go away and stay away, Rob Ford. If you truly love this city as you say you do, that is the best thing you could possibly ever do for Toronto.

I'd be AMAZED if Rob Ford could fuck anyone or anything.

The guy is a physical disaster and I bet he hasn't seen his Johnson in 20 years. I believe he's 5'10 and 345# (when he did that "cut the waist" nonsense, it was released. On top that, he's a booze hound and a crack head and he just looks "unwell".

I can't believe he's had an honest to goodness hard on in years.
I have four words for you Captain: Rob Ford Sex Tape

At least, rumored to be one out there according to the editor of the Star (quoted by Blatchford in the Post). Some things should be left unseen.

Although I do find celebrity sex tapes intriguing from time to time, that's one I would avoid watching at all costs. Then again, if there is one I hope it's released. Anything that will help prevent this man from running in the election is a good thing!

"The percentage of people who would vote for him in the upcoming municipal election also dropped significantly, to 25 per cent from 29 per cent just two weeks ago."

http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/201...idents_think_rob_ford_should_resign_poll.html

So one in four Torontonians is a f*king moron???

They responded to the pollster's robocalls didn't they? But you needn't despair if you assume they usually comprise the greater part of the not-thoughtful-enough-to-actually-vote percentage. This time 'round those who do can safely and obstinately pick Rob without having to worry we'll get Ford more years.

I think he even described Italians as 'wops' in his bar room conversation.

About that establishment where he was taped: I took my mom shopping as we both live in his area. Saw couple of barflies having a smoke outside this small, old pub next to a defunct bowling alley and wondered, how do they survive and who the heck would go this place? Rob Ford's mother lives in a court across from that plaza. Go figure.

Senor Draper. I would kill for the woman whose legs are depicted in your sig pic.

Getting back on topic, I think Rob Ford's initial popularity was borne out of taxpayer's pissed off about less service value for money, garbage strikes, St. Clair Ave. boondoggle (not that the dedicated streetcar lane doesn't look pretty), certain bicycle lanes and miscellaneous tax hikes.

He is not a thinker and basically pushes his weight around (literally too from what we have seen) to get what he wants.

I've personally dealt with Rob Ford as an Etobicoke councillor, and he seemed effective and pleasant. But I think we know him better now since he's been under the microscope, and it's evident that perhaps, being a politician with family support, was the easier path for him to take as he may be a liability in the family business (or of much less use).

Because of his reasons for finally doing what he should have done months ago.
Do you think he had another 'come to Jesus' moment and realized that he has hit rock bottom and needs help?
Fuck no... a HUGE shit storm was heading towards him that he could not bullshit his way out of, so in typical douchebag fashion, he runs.
You are spot on.

No quarter for this sad, disgraceful excuse of a man.

There cannot be any doubt remaining for what many of us have known for a long time. And that is that Rob Ford has always been and still is a hateful, spiteful man. Misogynistic, homophobic, racist, bigoted man without a shred of integrity, dignity and honesty.

After his disgusting and self-revealing comments caught on audio at Sullie's , how many will still want to take selfie's with this man now?

... and without humility.

Miller attempted to stand up to the unions and we were in a very messy ordeal, Ford caved. John Tory isn't fit to be Mayor. He is, quoting Marlon Brando "just a clerk here to collect the bill".

And I have no sympathy for drug addicts. They are too deranged to help themselves and they'll cut you off at knees for their next fix. Ford is merely going on vacation, when he returns he'll pick up right where he left off.

Huh? Miller caved to the unions. It was Ford who stood up to them. That's why even professional people that were sick and tired of the garbage strikes and ensuing mess still supported him before his 3 ring circus act fully unfolded.

Doug gets a nice tax break for donating that salary. Definitely not doing it out of the goodness of his heart.
Correction. The tax break is nowhere equal to his salary, so yes, he's way more philanthropic than you or I.

(Don't impugn someone's charitable motive that you don't like. However, there's another motive and it is political. If he was hoping to run for provincial politics, it would've been part of his community record).
