I'm not sure I want to see a 45 year old. With age comes wisdom and temperment. I also doubt that there exists a candidate with whom the cardinals would feel comfortable seeing in the big chair for 30+ years.....

On a more serious note, I respect the guy for knowing when to call it a day. I don't think he was ever that motivated to become Pope in the first place.
I am really hopeful that we will see a Pope from outside Europe elected. IT would be a very positive step.
