yes there are pro-settler parties in the Israeli system but they have far from a majority. They have some influence on the government because of Israel's parliamentary structure. On the other hand, Hamas is in full control of Gaza.

Yes Netanyahoo is a dolt but Hamas et. al. just strengthen his position by refusing to accept peace.
Hamas is only in charge of Gaza because Israel allowed it. Lets face it, they want the Pali's divided because it weakens them and makes a peace deal pretty much impossible.

Meanwhile Goldstone has confirmed that Israel has no policy of intentionally targetting civilians.
Nah..he didn't'. Everyone has given you the opportunity to provide a link to the modified Goldstone Report that says what you claim, but you've not been man enough to provide.

That's why you've earned the moniker of Ernst Zundel/Fuji.

No thread on this yet but Israel is trading over 1000 Palestinian prisoners who were convicted in proper trials (including over 100 convicted of murdering civilians) for one abducted Israeli who's only crime was to be in uniform on the Israeli side of the green line.

http://www.haaretz.com/news/diploma...oners-set-for-release-in-shalit-deal-1.390249

Sounds like a victory for legal process over violence
Only another 4,000 more Palestinians imprisoned by Kangaroo courts to go. Including a hundred odd Palestinian children.

1000+ Palestinians convicted in properly constituted courts, with access to lawyers and appeals traded for one guy who did nothing except walk around inside his own country while wearing a uniform.
Huh? Shalit was a soldier in a tank enforcing a brutal occupation of Gaza. Let's start dealing with reality, sweet cheeks.

I don't have time to search the references but here ya go:

Can it be any more clear?

grog, i think it's fine for you to be unflinching in your condemnation of Israel but you cross the line when you support Iran or Hamas, that's just stoooopid.
I guess, in the spirit of fairness, you would also hold Israel equally responsible.

Death on the beach: seven Palestinians killed as Israeli shells hit family picnic

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2006/jun/10/israel

Why was Israel targeting a family and killing 7 including 3 children?

BTW...how many kids died in the Hamas attack you cited?

As usual in your completely dishonest way you misstate the purport of the article.

Israel was NOT TARGETING a family ...

"The military definitely would not target a beach full of people," said an army spokesman. The military said that although many of the shells fired yesterday were from Israeli gunboats, it believed the explosives that hit the beach were from army artillery. Israel said it has fired thousands of artillery shells into the Gaza Strip in response to armed Palestinian groups such as Islamic Jihad firing hundreds of homemade rockets into Israel."

The IDF expressed regret and offered medical aid.

The easiest way to end Israeli shelling if for Hamas to stop rockets from Gaza. Not really rocket science (excuse the pun).

You really are a pathetic clown and as your friend grog has said a very sick puppy.

Which part of Gaza does Israel occupy?

Hah!! Such a weasel ... you talk as though these people can just move to another location... what if your only other choice was homelessness for you and your family?
Then I would protest like crazy against a corrupt government that regularly allows my life to be put at risk for their own gain. That is after all what the Arab Spring is about.

So you are suggesting that Israel should have taken over Gaza again instead of allowing Hamas to steal power from Fatah?

I didn't say anything about the report. Goldstone exonerated Israel in the open letter that he wrote, that was published in the papers. Why do you think it needs Moamar Gadhaffi's approval before you believe it?

So lets see Israel decries Hamas for firing shells at Israel civilians, so in retaliation it fires shells at Pali civilians... so please explain to me again how does Israel claim some sort of moral high ground?

Israel does not fire shells at Pali civilians. Israel fires shells at Hamas and Islamic Jihad military positions. Hamas and Islamic Jihad intentionally put their military positions near civilians. That is not Israel's fault.

In other words we can blame both the Israeli and the Palestinian deaths on Hamas.

I don't know how to make this clearer to you: Hamas and Islamic Jihad are terrorists. However worthy you may think the Palestinian cause is they are terrorists, and they victimize both the Israeli and the Palestinian peoples.

Wrong all around.
Israel routinely kill about 10 times the number of civilians as Hamas. Gryfin's example was inexcusable. A family picnic on the beach. There were no Hamas camps on the beach, no mistaking a family picnic.

We do not blame Hamas for people Israel kills. That would not hold up in any court of law, you'd be laughed out of court for even suggesting it. Israel is the occupying power, controlling one of the most densely populated areas in the world. There is no excuse for targeted killings or missile attacks without the rule of law. You wouldn't let the US get away with it, why do you let Israel?

You should stop using the word terrorist. Ever since you called the activists on the Gaza flotilla terrorists, I will no longer accept your use of the word. You have no credibility on the matter.

Israel routinely kills about 10 times the number of civilians as Hamas but they do not target them.

The reasons why this is so:

1. The security wall has been effective in limiting the ability of Hamas to kill Jews

2. Hamas has realtively ineffective long range weapons

3. Hamas tries to ensure that the maximum number of Palestinian civilians are killed in Israeli counter-strikes

If you gave Hamas a button to push and it killed 1000 Israeli children with every button push they would be pushing the button so furiously that they would develop carpal tunnel syndrome.

Hamas has homemade tin rockets that you can't aim.
Israel has one of the most sophisticated arsenals around.

Israel has no excuse for bad aim.

And if you read any of the accounts from ex-IDF, you would have to retract your statement about targeting.
Here, read some of their testimonials:

So to you Israel should just sit back and watch the homemade rockets rain down on civilian centers and as Hamas continues to receive more sophisticated rockets etc. Yea you are probably right. Most countries would do that.

No, they should stop trying to expand their land by taking over Palestinian's and settle some kind of peaceful solution.

A peaceful solution would stop the rockets, Hamas is still working under a voluntary, one sided, ceasefire right now. But they don't control the full population, the same way Israel can't control gangs of settlers running around attacking people and mosques shouting 'death to arabs'.

And if Israel would stop killing civilians, that would also help. Not to mention ending the blockade. I could go on, but its Friday night and I've things to do.

There we have your old argument again: If the intention is good, it is ok to kill civilians. Look up what martin Luther said about good intentions.

The numbers tell the story:

Number of people killed by violence:

----------------------Israelis-------------Palestinians
2006.....................23....................... .665
2007.....................19....................... .385
2008.....................35....................... .887
2009......................9....................... 1034
2010......................8....................... ...70
