Makes no difference if Ford wins, actually.

The books are what they are. Can't change anything about them.

He'd only be one vote out of 45 at Council sittings. He can't impose any new tax and only has minor influence on municipal taxes. The OMB has final say on that.

He can't turn Toronto into a "refugee-free zone" (or whatever the hell he was talking about).

And all this crap about Ford's ancient past is a complete non-issue and distracting from the real issue. Makes absolutely no difference if he had a lapse in judgment over a decade ago. A decade! Jeezuz, if he had robbed a liquor store he'd be out of jail by now. Give it a rest already.

The one and only thing that Toronto wants to know about: When will the Leafs make the playoffs, much less win the Stanley Cup?

How anyone can take Rob Ford seriously is beyond me. He is nothing but a attention seeking blow hard with a shtick. His shtick is "fiscal responsibility". The reality is that the moron has no concept of what that means. He has never managed a real business or project. He seems to have no concept of the complexity of running a city. Its not like looking at spreadsheets at his dads decal business. Can you imagine this clown representing Toronto at an international summit of any kind? He was manipulated and trapped by the idiot with the oxy phone call, can you imagine him negotiating with international political power players? I cant. He would be crushed chewed up and spit out. Can you imagine him holding his own in union negotiations? He would be pulverized into a puddle of mush. He's in way over his head. Thats why he's dangerous. He should go back to selling pot and drawing cheques from his dads company. This little clown has no business representing millions of people.

But at the same time you are willing to assume that everything Ford does is wrong, criminal, or not done the way you want it done. Is that not a bit of a double standard?
I'm reading your post and immediately I'm wondering WTF you're talking about! I don't recall making any claims that Ford's past activities or stated opinions were universally wrong or criminal or anything else. It has never happened. You must have me mixed up with someone else because I've only ever referred to Ford's buffoonery in the most general of terms. This is the first time I can recall being critical of specific events in Ford's past. Until these Florida DUI & pot possession charges came to light, I knew almost nothing about Ford besides the obvious fact that he's an obnoxious boor.

I am a SARAH THOMSON supporter. Gentlemen, this is one amazing woman & she deserves your serious consideration.

Self-made business woman, she used to run a multi-million dollar operation turning around failing gas stations (& making them profitable.)
Currently runs a successful niche publication in Toronto.

Actually, I was planning to vote for her before the campaign started. I was even thinking about volunteering for her. However, I haven't been impressed with her campaign thus far. The stance she is taking on several issues has been surprising for me. I'll probably vote for someone else.

My God, this is Canada's largest city and these clowns are all that we have to choose from for mayor? Seriously, they have to pay more for the mayor position or do something to attract quality talent to the position.

I was thinking of voting for Sara Thomson as well....

But if it comes down to Ford and Smitherman...I'm voting Smitherman...

There's a lot more people riding bikes in Toronto than ever...
I see plenty of people in my building riding their bikes to work or whatever.....Something I barely saw ten years ago....
The perception as bicycles as an actual form of transportation has changed....Its definitely for the better....

I feel the same way. Her campaign has been a disappointment.

LOL, you are such a complete idiot. If you've only ever ridden on the sidewalk, you've then you've only ever ridden around your own block! Try riding on the sidewalk downtown. You'll get either get ticketed or hit someone in 5 minutes. Your ignorance is completely unbelievable.

The fact that you can't even address a single fact that I mentioned tells me you've probably never ridden a bike anywhere. All you can do is express your hatred of cyclists.

If you love driving so much, move out of Toronto! Makes as much sense as me moving to Holland.
Nice try but there are many more drivers than bikers on the road. The roads are for cars, and cars only. Take your little tricycle and move to holland.

I am letting everyone here on TERB know in this very post that I'm almost certain Ford is going to win. Just the same way obama won the presidency, this guy is going to win here. All the younger people are going to vote for him, and a lot of the older ones too. Just watch.

People who ride on sidewalks are ignorant of laws and and are usually riding at a speed barely faster than walking pace. Even then, they are endangering pedestrians. Most regular bike commuters are easily doing 25-30kph and would be a danger do pedestrians if they rode on the sidewalk.
Even if there was a pedestrian vs bicycle crash it would be so small, probably a light scratch or something. Compare that with bicycle vs car. The biker is most likely going to be dead, and if he is not dead he's going to make a big claim with his insurance.. just move to holland, honestly it is a good option for people who love bicycles and riding bikes. Toronto is like the new york of canada, bikes dont belong here, its urban area with cars, trucks, street cars, and busses. Please just move to holland. Damn I wish so bad that ford gets elected I want him to just ban bike lanes right away.
