I would move to holland in a heartbeat if I could. Have you ever SEEN the asses on their women? All they do is bike all day long, you could bounce a quarter off it.

Oh yeah and the Dutch are amazingly tolerant people. They certainly wouldn't let YOUR kind in, wallstreet. You know, judgmental, boorish and backwards.

Ford cuts off Toronto Star
Rob Ford isn’t talking to the Toronto Star anymore.

Campaign officials for the mayoral contender told the Sun Friday that Ford and the rest of his campaign team refuse to speak to the newspaper.

“We are not speaking to the Toronto Star,” said Adrienne Batra, Ford’s director of communications. “The Toronto Star does not get any official comment from our campaign.”

Batra said the campaign has taken the stance because of the Star’s stories on Ford’s conduct as a football coach nine years ago.

The original Star story alleged that while coaching for Newtonbrook Secondary School in 2001, Ford got into an altercation with a player who refused to leave the field during a Saturday afternoon game at Oakville’s Appleby College. The story went on to claim Ford was told he was no longer welcome to coach for Newtonbrook.

A subsequent story in a national newspaper quoted the football player saying Ford did not hit him.

Ford has served the Star with a notice of intent to sue the newspaper for libel.

A spokesman for the Star wasn’t weighing in on the Ford campaign’s stance.

“We have no comment on that,” Bob Hepburn said Friday.

In a follow-up e-mail, Hepburn stressed the Star stands by its stories on the perceived frontrunner in the mayor’s race.

“The Star does, however, stand by our stories about Mr. Ford, including those dealing with his time as a football coach,” he wrote.

Pretty soon he may refuse to speak to the Toronto Sun too.

You really don't want to know
Looks like Ford is in more trouble for abusing his position to raise money for his charity.Could this be the one that ends his campaign?
Why should it, it never seemed to make a dent in the re-election campaigns of carrers of his fellow councilors who have been investigated by the integrity office, or have we already forgot:

Sandra Bussin using over $4,400 in taxpayers' money for self-promotion, including the diversion of her office operating budget to sponsor such community groups as the "Bussin's Blizzards" soccer team and the "Bussin's Blue Jays," T-ball squad.

George Mammoliti using public funds to have the name of the community centre that houses his constituency office to have his name placed on the sign out front.
Adam Giambone spending 6,299.50 of his office expenses on the private language sessions.

Kyle Rae’s going away party at the Rosewater Supper Club totaling $12,706.74 that was paid out of his office budget.

Howard Moscoe arranging for his family members to all receive high level jobs within City Hall.

In today's Globe, Christie Blatchford makes the case for Ford:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...the-gadfly-that-toronto-needs/article1680642/

As I mentioned in another thread, one challenge for Smitherman is that his own supporters can't find anything good to say about him. They can tell you why they don't like Ford, but say nothing about why anyone should like Smitherman. It may be a problem for George.
It is a problem for George, as well as the other candidates, all you ahve been hearing is Ford did this Ford lied Ford.... What you have not heard from any of them is a platform that attracts the attention of the voters for more than one news cycle. They have nothing to say that is resonating with voters, resonating hell its not even starting to vibrate.

The latest is Smitherman's campaign is getting "help" from the provincial liberals . A mailing is going out to 70 odd thousand liberal supporters in Toronto with notes and back patting from a variety of Liberal MPP's... how much help that is going to be following the HST, e-health and the Ministry of energy silliness is questionable. It points more to the Provincial Liberals worring about the Tornto seats in 15 months .

One example of the rest of the candidates have nothing to say was Sarah Thomsom yesterday, she was complaining that Ford was getting all the press attention and everything was sliding off him, if she had a platform that could stand on its own she would not have the problem, the same for all teh candidates

None of the other candidates have anything to say that resonates with the voters. If they had anything good they would not be complaining about Fords press coverage, ie Sarah Thomson yesterday, He is like the King nothing sticks to him, perhaps if she had a platform that people wanted to hear she would not have to fight for press time.

The Provincial Liberals are stepping in to help Smithermans campaign, 70 odd thousand mailers are going out liberal voters in toronto supporting George and with a wide variety of MPPS saying what a great guy he is and how good he would be as Mayor of Toronto.... I wounderr if they mentioned E Health.

The Liberals are probably worried about the election next year, with Ford in the Mayors seat a Conservative veiwpoint would be front and center , and if he actually got some of the reforms through ( questionable ) the free press could influence a number of swing seats

I like this guy cause he supports strip clubs, escorts and massage spa's
Too bad for you that Mammoliti dropped out. He wanted to create a red-light district, and was also caught conducting a "safety inspection" with two other councillors at the House of Lancaster.

"Ford a showboater? Always in the limelight? Attention seeker?"

?????????????????????????????

I doubt FORD sought any of the recent attention!!!!!

The media controls ABSOLUTELY everything that gets in the paper.

They may well learn a lesson this time - that while they try to stab FORD - they are helping him.

**********************

And SMITHERMANS PROBLEM - hes a downtown left liberal crony ex drug addict who is gay.

I support gays - have cousins who are gay - have watched gays die from AIDS.

But his small fringe group of support cannot push him through..,,

And there is still a large part of the voting population who have trouble with a gay man!!

Not saying its right.... i'm just sayin.......

And now for something completely different:

.
Don't think so, as there is no evidence at this point that any of the money raised did not go to a good cause, or that any of the money used was from the taxpayer's purse. And that's what people care about.

It is a technical violation of the rules, that were specifically set up to stop councilors from profiting from their position. So he is wrong and I expect he will write a cheque for the balance and send it in....... maybe attached to a big bunny costume or an oversized invoice for a going away party or perhaps french lessons.... oh wait a minute those are "legal" usse for taxpayers money

An idiot is better than the alternatives and what we have now

you could of substituted Mel Lastman for Rob ford in your rant..and been spot on

regards ..we are getting another idiot for mayor..
I'd rather have a supposed idiot than the duplicitous current mayor with his Ivy School education who has no respect for tax payers' money.

At least Ford will try to run the city like a business and will respect other peoples money rather than giving it to his union and artsy buddies while globe trotting to try and make the world a greener place.

All the spoiled leftie babies are going to get a four year timeout to pout. After all the years having to put up with Miller it will be nice to have the shoe on the other foot.

D.

By the way, if Ford's an idiot, what's that make Smitherman and the other candidates he is beating so far? When all is said and done Ford's legacy will probably be that of saving Toronto from Miller's excesses.

I remember similar sentiments being expressed when Ontario staged a "protest" vote and gave the premiership to Bob Rae and the NDP. I'm sure many remember how that turned out.

He's already in trouble for asking for donations from lobbyists and such. Someone who is so unrepentant at breaking rules designed to keep corruption out of city hall does not deserve to get anywhere near where the check signing happens. Maybe that's how you run your business, but personally, I don't want any small minded people who want to abuse their power to get any power.

Honestly I think the best solution to the people who love biking beside automobiles is to move to holland and you can bike all you want there... You don't even need to lock your bike because no one takes them. Please just move to holland.
And honestly, I think the best solution for people who would suggest that cyclists ride on sidewalks is to move to the north pole where there are no cyclists. Although, I'd probably suggest locking your car, as most of the other assholes who this applies to would probably be the type to steal it. Please, just move to the north pole.

Hey Duang!

Welcome back to the thread. You still haven't answered my last post about Harris and the 407 boondoggle.

Ford will run the city like a business alright. I'd be willing to bet that do his best to make him and as many of his personal friends rich off the city while he is in power, just like your buddy "Common Sense" Mike did to Ontario.
